Click here for a list of current Virgin Australia discount codes:

A while back VA had a discount code that could be used for (almost) any domestic booking.

Are there any discount codes that work at the moment?

Thanks!

Hi thanks for the reply sorry I got it wrong as m looking for Mel to Calgary which is via LA in april 17,18 19 ( Easter time)&return 1,2 or 3 may 2019
Cheers
VA don't fly to YYC so the Promo codes do not apply - as per my above post, VA Promo codes don't work on Codeshare flights.

Try CMT46 - the usual 20 day advance booking period applies and is good for Getaway (~3.5%) , Elevate (5%), Freedom (10%), Premium (10%) and Business (10%) discounts.

This code also works for VA domestic and Trans Tasman bookings .

Thanks for the code!

Unfortunately it isn't working for Business Savers for MEL-CBR in March and April :(

None of the other "active" codes work either. Sad times.

Try HNV39 I used for mel to hkg via Syd in april it worked it's only 5%

BUPA is listing DGV68 as a current code at the moment. 20 day advance as usual. Book before 30 June 2019.

Offer is only for travel on Virgin Australia operated and numbered flights i) between Australian domestic ports; and ii) from Australian ports to Apia/Denpasar/Honiara/Nadi/Raratonga/Port Vila/Nuku'alofa/Port Moresby/Los Angeles/Hong Kong. 10% discount is only applicable to the base fare price advertised for sale on the myBUPA website and cannot be applied to sale fares.

Thanks for that, it is working. Was that within the BUPA members discount page?

Yes, though the code is not specifically listed there. To get the code, you put the criteria in for a booking through the BUPA website, and it re-directs to the VA website. You can capture the code one of two ways:
1. Intercept it through the web pages as it redirects from the BUPA site to the VA site
2. Select "Modify Search" once you get the VA results page, and it provides the code in the Promo Code box.

New code from American Express. Promo code is AMX19.

From now until 31 March 2019, American Express Velocity Card Members can get up to 30% off selected domestic and up to 25% off selected international Virgin Australia operated flights*. This includes Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class.

Simply use your American Express Velocity Card to book a flight via this dedicated Virgin Australia offer page and the discount code will automatically be applied to your booking. Don't forget to add your Velocity membership number to your booking to earn Points when you fly.

Hurry, this limited time offer ends at 11.59pm AEDT on 31 March 2019. Valid for travel from 8 April 2019 to 12 February 2020. A 21 day advance purchase period applies.

The T&Cs state have to pay with Amex card, but I'd be skeptical that they could enforce that specific requirement. YMMV

Thanks for the code kevrosmith.

First time I've seen one of these promos with no discount on Freedom fares and cant really think of any reason why they would exclude full flex Y while discounting full flex J

I would suggest that could be an enticement to go that extra bit to buy a discounted J seat. A revenue raising exercise. They might get some, which is better than none. The SC uplift for the pax helps from an attaining status or retaining/increasing status.

I must have missed the detail - but where is the Virgin page link for the special page to book through as the intial t&cs mention?

The link at the end of # 928 opens a HK designated booking page.

Just use the code 'AMX19' here:

for fares to LAX in peak season, which much be for departures from mid Dec to mid Jan, the student/under 31 years/education workers fares seem to be much cheaper than using any promo code. These fares seem to be child fares with adult taxes & strangely you can't get them directly with Virgin, only through a travel agent.

Not getting much joy with codes for SYD-AKL at present. Wish I'd booked last month.

Working Codes
  • CMT46 (5% off Getaway/Elevate, 10% off Freedom, Premium Economy, Business, domestic and international)
  • GPR26 10% off, domestic and international. added january 2019
  • HNV39 valid for bookings until 31 Dec, domestic and international
  • DGV68 (10% off all fares except sale and trans-Tasman fares, expires 30 June 2019)
  • AMX19 (5-30% off selected fare classes in all classes of travel to all VA destinations, must pay with Amex card, expires 31 March 2019)
With regard to the AMX19 code, I found it to be more selected destinations and all fare classes, than selected fare classes and all destinations.

I used the email link mid March with the promo code for VA flights SYD-LAX in January 2020 and got absolutely no discount.

flying on Delta tickets on VA metal to LAX often seems to be better fares than on VA tickets even with any promo codes

Just tried these codes for HBA-MEL-PER return (30/5 to 7/6) - CMT46 and HNV39 worked, but GPR26 and HNV39 didn't give discounts on any fares at all on those or surrounding dates.

just looked up

SYD/LAX January 12 & LAX/SYD January 25 for person under 31 years & fare was $1311 on Virgin aircraft direct both ways.

On Virgin website without using any promo code, same flights for an adult was $1937 or $1701 through Budget Air.

Can anyone suggest how can get cheaper than $1311 direct both ways ?

Was $1191 going via MEL outbound & via BNE coming home, but requires a night in BNE as
January 25 flight LAX/BNE is at 12.10pm, gtting into BNE at 8.15pm next day & too late to get back to SYD, same day.
