Click here for a list of current Virgin Australia discount codes:

A while back VA had a discount code that could be used for (almost) any domestic booking.

Are there any discount codes that work at the moment?

Thanks!

Thanks.

If you book via the standard VA website, how do you add the ABN? Someone else asked this question a few weeks ago and I don’t recall seeing an answer. (It’s simple on QFBR).
In my experience adding the ABN on the normal website does nothing useful. It hasn't added the flights to my expenditure balance in the business portal.
I should check if triggers earning points in the business account (not individual).

Definitely works for me, I do this monthly as it's cheaper than using the business site (whilst the discount codes are around) but you get the same benefits (apart from if someone cancels the credit will go to the individual's account and not the bus flyer account).
You get points on both the Bus Flyer account and the individual gets theirs, a win win.
Perhaps get this looked into further :)
Also, make sure your ABN is attached to your bus flyer account correctly.

I'm talking about the expenditure amount. I have 2 current booking this year, theyre show up in the ticket details and in manage section of the "booking" portal. They are NOT included in the expenditure report for 2023.
These were booked using the consumer website, second 2022 - 16 tickets $0 spend, similar first half. All consumer website bookings.
I'm not seeing anything wrong with the ABN set up. This has been set up since pre-covid.

The points portal does show an expenditure total.

Is that after taking the flight(s)?

Both before and after, currently have flights in the future booked in January. But also when I go back in time, there are flown ticket details but zero expenditure.

However, after investigating the points portal side, there is a spend balance there and it seems to update. So I guess that's the fix to the booking portal not tracking spend.

I've gone into this recently with the business mob, via their e-mail. Just going to recount what they told me which I think is different from your experience.

I joined Business Flyer Sept last year but sort of forgot about it and booked a number of flights through the Virgin customer portal, no ABN put in. Since December, I've been booking flights also through the customer portal, but putting ABN into each.

I e-mailed asking what would happen as I saw nothing in the Business portal under bookings.

Reply#: They could see the latter bookings in their system and, notwithstanding that those bookings aren't showing in the Business portal website, they will credit once flown. As for the pre-December flights where I gave no ABN, I should make retro claims for each flight in the 'Rewards' portal and they will credit if approved. I could apply for a retro claim for flights up to 30 days before joining the program.

Obviously in future, I need to use the thing as designed and make bookings through the Business portal!

#BTW, the e-mail reply came in about an hour and clearly addressed my queries, including listing particular PNRs. Not bad, that.

Actually, I think I might be talking cough. Only two or 4 bookings are showing with ticket details in the business portal. Those are both most likely booked in the booking portal, one used business portal travelbank.
The other 2 bookings I have most definitely on the consumer website, due to promo code.

And the rewards portal only shows a total for spend. I can't see the transactions that contribute to the spend total.

All very frustrating.

I was under the impression that only bookings via the Business portal counted towards spend in Virgin Business Flyer...happy to be proven wrong though!

Your business can make and manage flight bookings using the business booking portal or via your preferred travel agent.

See 2 posts above yours. According to the Business e-mail people, if the ABN is in the booking made through the regular Virgin portal, then they will count (but not show up on the Business portal as bookings). For past flights with no ABN entered, submit a retro claim.

Can someone please recommend any working codes for booking return flights for MEL -- CNS in economy. ta

Do promo codes not work when using Travel Bank credits?
No codes do from my experience, otherwise, you could effectively get a double discount, so it's best for them to just block it from being used for TB.

I found the same thing this morning. The code worked but when I applied Travel Bank the discount was gone

We successfully used one a couple of months ago.
How did you manage this out of interest?

It's not possible to add a discount code because as soon as you click that you are using travel bank after you enter the dates of travel, it removes the discount code box.
Of course, you can search as though you are not using travel bank and add the discount code, but during payment, if you select you're paying all/some of it with travel bank, it effectively removes the code, so there is no way around this.

Interesting!

Yes, I just tried this also, but I don't have funds either to fully test it, I remember it being removed by this method also, as I tried both, but that was a few months ago now.
I would be interested to know if this does work for anyone that has funds :)

This did not happen to me. Without going into too much *technical* details, I think the discount held. Now all we need is someone with enough balance in their Travel Bank and try to replicate this scenario

With me currently having to cancel everything for the next few months I could be there shortly. Not sure yet how my credits are being applied though. I need a bit longer malingering before I am up to working it through.
