Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

Yeah I noticed it looks gone. Perhaps not installed or design finalised yet?

Wouldn't care if it went. Would actually be better to store bag beneath seat in front in row 3.
Maybe I'm the only one that quite liked the purple perspex divider :p

Good delineation between cabins, allowed (as part of the broader structure) for that rope; and when in economy, made line of sight through to the front much easier (especially compared with those hideous hanging things on QF).

It is much better than the Qantas alternative, that I agree with. But it doesn't really need to be there. Rope could still be there, maybe be a mount of sorts on the rear row of business seats

It is much better than the Qantas alternative,

Qantas actually trialled a plastic divider as part of Project Amber which upgraded VH-VXC with new style bins, lighting and a plastic divider, but it didn't progress beyond the single aircraft

I believe it's back to curtains these days.

Very nice, very very nice!

I too liked the purple divider.... At least a divider of some sort.
Oh well, everything changes over time.

So the two planes with this new fitout (if both compete) will be known to us, which plane rego etc so we can look to jump onboard.
How silly, is only a seat....ha.

Agree - made it feel more like a premium expereince and no one from Row 3 bumping your seat etc.

I don't see anywhere to put that magnetic rope onto, that's going to be a problem for some people.....

Sadly not. Whilst the refreshed lockers were not fitted the curtain was scrapped in favour of a frosted screen. There's a little sticker that says "Business Class only beyond this point," but no one ever listens to that.

So on closer inspection there is no USB power in economy, the area which I thought there was is just a bit of plastic. Likewise Business has no power (at least not obvious). I see this as a massive step backwards given many of the current fleet have power in J and a handful of them have USB in Y.

On a different note, given the J cabin is not separated at all it's now just an open invitation for those in Y to use the J loo. The whole set up give me vibes of Spirit Airlines in the US with their Big Front seats.

Don’t forget it’s clearly a trial. Only 2 aircraft will have them fitted for now and I’m sure there will be plenty of feedback both good and bad that may determine if things need to be tweaked for the arrival of the MAX’s.
I think in this day and age power in J and USB throughout should be pretty standard. Some sort of divider is needed too

I don’t think they are going to retrofit the rest of the fleet sort of only indicated in the wording it was for the ‘future fleet’.

So the existing setup is probably going to still be dominate for the next 10 years.

Overall it looks more comfortable vs today. The leaf pattern on the headset maintains some form of uniqueness.

Given these aircraft will do transcon flights, I think USB in Y and powerpoint in J are essential.

Otherwise looks good, lack of divider somewhat unusual. Maybe they'll just use the little rope to stop Y pax moving forward?

Row 3 may be an issue with(out) screen holders (wonder how that will work)?
