Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Is a ‘Front Bathroom is for J Pax only’ PA part of the script?
My flight yesterday, like most, mentioned the two lavs at the back for rows 3-31 and no mention of the front one. QF do the same. Perhaps the logic is that by not mentioning the fact there’s one at the front, all the schumcks will be none the wiser it’s there :shrugs

I am on 737-700, in Jul in econX.
I will use the loo in the terminal.
Does the 737-700 retro fitted with the J, they came in all Y, so now with 2 rows taken to become J, ... does the 737-700 have front loos.
Know these didnt come with Y when VA got them...

Ah, so their 737-700 does have a front loo.
Thanks seatguru.

Have done the VA A320 ADL - PER, never again.

Seatguru? Don't use that if you want up to date information.

I have been flying VA a fair bit lately and the PA is as you say "2 toilets for rows 3-30 in the rear of the aircraft" and seems pretty standard announcement now but its part of a much longer spiel and I suspect the length and number of these spiels with very repetitive and boring information and the prevalence of noise cancelling earphone use might be why frequent travellers are probably tuning out to this a fair bit and the infrequent ones might have last flown Jetstar or Qantas and seen people using the forward toilets on these services so just assume that anyone can use them.

Flew on an older B738 which still had the purple divider a few days ago and the magnetic rope made a re-appearance on that flight so some aircraft must still have them. Have left feedback to Virigin numerous times that I'm not paying for J class out of my own pocket until they restore some sort of divider between the J and Y class cabin, It is something that Virgin used to do so well but now the accountants are in charge and standards are slipping. It's also a bad practice to tell flight attendants not to antagonize Y pax trying to use the fwd toilets because of abuse, because if abuse is now acceptable in the air that is news to me and a bad precedent. Hopefully, some Virgin cabin crew will take this to the people up the front of the aircraft, and offload a few people who can't take instructions from cabin crew, the resultant publicity might refresh the attitude of some passengers as to who is in charge of the aircraft.

VA804 this morning in row 3, leg room is way less for row 3 than what I am used to.

No divider to business class, but feels like standard economy X legroom in row 3 to the business class seats in front, where on other aircraft you end up with nearly 3 windows!

Flew SYD-ADL paid Biz this week both on these non-divider 737s.

Streams of pax to the loos.

How any company can spend $110 MILLION on any refit, and not spend $50 per plane on a magnetic rope divider on the back of the row 2 seats, defies belief. Any handyman could it in 15 minutes.

Would work then the same as they always did.

Folks pay many times more for a biz seat for good reason. The nickel and diming of Biz catering continues, and a quiet cabin is one thing they CAN still do, at almost zero cost.

After one glass of sparkling at lunch the FA said 'that's the end of that bottle, let me know if you'd like anything else'. Talk about race to the bottom. :(

Rarely it is many times. Quite often the flex Y costs more than the J seat. So by that account maybe they should be entitled to use the loo too. Just don’t give VA that idea.
Flex is no longer much more than Choice since the fare adjustments kicked in.
But yes, that used to be the case.
