Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

The MAXs go to Florida for Wifi installation, not cabin densification.
Ah, correct. Was meant to put air to ground internet infrastructure for pax wifi :) . It would have been cabin fit at Boeing...

I am on VA303 now, on VH-8IF.

That MASSIVE legroom has gone that was present at row 3. Still comfy, but not that huge gap that we learned to love for a while ...

Here is a pic for those who want to know what row 3 is like on a densified 737-Max81000012433.jpg

Meantime, VH-8IH has just left Hawaii, enroute to Brisbane on its delivery flight.

This ends the first tranche of 8 Max8s. Virgin has that further order of more aircraft that was placed about a year back, as part of addressing the Max10 delays...

Certainly an odd/funny photo, some blokes legs, or is it a bloke, it is 2024.

Still more than adequate leg room.
Us row 3 plebs will manage somehow.

I sat in row 3 of a plane with the new configuration over the weekend. Both of the people in the row next to me placed their bags under the (business class) seats in front, so that was a positive. As numerous others have mentioned and as I've observed several times, the big negative was the number of people from Economy who used the Business class toilets, with no attempt by the cabin crew to stop them.

How hard could it be to have the best of both worlds with a curtain or rope in the aisle, but with no divider in front of the seats themselves?

I flew on VH-NJV this morning, one of the reconfigured all-Y 700s.

The business cabin has the new seats fitted. The economy cabin is unchanged and still has the all grey slimline seats with device holders that they pinched out of the Tiger 737s.

The Y seats have had USB chargers fitted, but they're not in the seat backs like the new seats. They're located between the seat pockets, similar to the international 737-800s that have chargers.

More interestingly, both USB-A and USB-C ports have been fitted.

Agree. However it they intend to keep those TigerAir seats, it would be better if they turfed them and used the newer Boghetti leather seats from the fleet to swap out.
