This is 100% correct.

Also please remember that there is no obligation for any member (company rep or other) to respond to any question. AFF contribution is entirely voluntary.

Ha! That call is out of my pay bracket!

I trust you have pushed upwards the feedback we're giving you here!

Whilst I agree with this, I dont think it's unreasonable to have had a response earlier in the thread that the user is "not able to provide the info" due to commercial in confidence. It would have been more transparent, rather than the mucking around.

I'd posit that Australian Aviation are announcing 2/2/2 but the airline has made no confirmation (or denial) of this - i'd expect that a rumour should not be allowed to persist/propogate lest the market be manipulated. AFF is obviously not the place to address this (ASX or within the origination of the "rumour" would be the place).

Also please remember that there is no obligation for any member (company rep or other) to respond to any question. AFF contribution is entirely voluntary.

Again, I agree with this. Other members are also allowed to a) enquire and b) express opinion / frustration at said contribution (or lack thereof).

I hope at no time were my posts seen as a personal attack on any member from DJ - I greatly value all their input to this forum, and it would be less engaging without them. I was more trying to express the frustration and understand if/why the info was being witheld. As equally any member from DJ is within their right to share any / no info as they see fit. Cant hurt to ask (repeatedly) and/or explain my feeling on the matter, as long as it's not considered abusive.

I couldn't really give a flying frangipani if there are 2 or 3 seats in the middle.

We are fortunate that there will now be competition in the domestic premium market - the detail can wait. We are also very fortunate that we have two DJ rep's on this forum who are happy to spend their Saturday's speaking with us!

I care a lot. Especially if I was in one.

However I'm very confident that I will know whether it is 2-2-2 or 2-3-2 before I am able to book DJ A330 Business.

Therefore I'm not stressing out about the dribble and leak approach DJ are using. Don't really care some people need to chill :)

This. All of this.

To DJ staff: please, either (a) provide more specific answers to questions, or (b) say that you can't say and provide a timeline for when something is going to be announced.
The time line was published on page #30 of the 'CEO Presentation for Half Year ended 31 December 2010'

Do you rally expect any DJ rep here to give more information than the CEO :?: (no need to answer as it is a rhetorical question)

Don't forget that more info is said to be announced in the upcoming weeks, to do with Y cabin, so perhaps more on the 332 J config will come out then.... as well as what's happening to the 738's J cabin....

Considering the press release shows there are plans for only 4 x 332's over the next 2 years(?), and DJ will have some "70" x 738's back in their fleet pretty soon, I'm just as curious, if not more so, as to what the J config of these 738's will be.

- If the current 738 Y+ pitch is some 34" atm, is it the plan to simply remove a row (or two) of Y to give J an approx 44" pitch?? (3 rows for J, as mentioned on ausbt)
- With the 332 J seating being nicely refurbished Emirates J, is it not more likely that the 738 J's will offer something different/newer for the 800+ physical seats needs for retrofitting? (just done in the same material/stylings for consistency).

Considering that QF has, to date, only decided to up the ante on the East-West routes as part of their counter attack, that leaves a huge number of QF routes that operate smaller craft, with their standard J offerings, as prime target for DJ to muscle in on with their "new J"... and somehow i don't think QF has quite enough 744's with skybeds to quickly throw at them in response :D

Can't wait to find out what happens .... is it sad that i find this so fascinating?

I'm with you spaceboi. I will be going to PER mid year and whilst the 332's are tempting I will not go via SYD to try the J setup.

It will indeed be interesting to see what the J styling will be for the 738's

for anyone interested in seeing a decent J cabin motion view of the emirates A330-200, there's a youtube video that runs about 2mins.
It shows only the front row as being the usual 2-2-2, with the remainder appearing to be 2-3-2.

And it's great to see a mixture of seats that are fully reclined (with people in them), watching TV, using laptops, etc.

The first 30 or seconds focus soley on the IFE "plane map", and then does a bit of a pan around the cabin.

My only gripe would be that if the seat in front is fully reclined, your LCD screen ends ups down at your knee level (which can be tilted)..but it looks like you really then can't recline your seat too much, if you want to watch anything (unless you want very sore neck).

OH and those airliner images pasted here earlier, that show a 2-3-2 x 5 row, are the 3 class config, where the main J cabin is behind 1 row of F cabin + 1 row of J.

Here is that Vid

Saw a glimpse of the new uniforms at BNE airport today. Not too exciting.

Also saw them on SYD-VIL-SYD over last few days - as always the wearer's own shape is the make or break on how they look.

Colours are slightly different to Virgin Atlantic as is the styling.

Overall I find them a step in the right direction and infinitely more flattering than what QF makes it's female FAs wear.

I don't think the new uniforms are any better than the old ones. Any attempt to look more professional is quickly cancelled out by crew removing their shoes during the flight, as happened on Friday night.

The new uniforms to me look a lot like those of Virgin Atlantic. It almost makes me thing the entire Virgin global group is trying to "consolidate", but we know that ain't happening, of course.

As for the shoes off during the flight, I have to ask, "What the hell?!!" I hope you are lying, because if that is true then not only is that grossly unprofessional, I would be asking if that is against OHS.

the vid possted shows green leather seats and trim, so seems like DJ may not even have recovered them (original pic from airliners showed a red trim)

No way - really? I've seen the QF girls slip out of towering heels into flats on board.... Are you sure you didn't see similar? Did they keep their socks on?

Yes this is something I'm struggling to work out how that works, I can't actually remember ever flying a J type seat that has a decent recline with an LCD in the back....

I'm sure DJ have thought through that though, maybe the seats aren't final.
