I think you cannot sell the same thing twice.
Branson would never want to buy something back for more than the price he sold it for based on what i have ever heard.
He is the master at selling rights to use his trade names rather than the name itslf.

Bumping with speculation.

There was a survey about menu options for DJ. A proposed drink named the 'Virgin Australian'.

No idea on the new name but a little birdie told me today the uniform change comes in in 4 weeks so I assume there may be other things happening too

Well they will be dropping Coke in March and replacing with Pepsi as their inflight cola... Does that count as part of the relaunch? ;)

One Of our friends flys for them and said that they are looking at making the airline a little more business like and targeting the Qantas business customer I hope the beat Alan Joyce in to the ground the way he has run Qantas is appalling.

In the lounge at SYD - rear wall behind the showers is boarded up, the project scope states they are constructing a new Lounge Entrance and Valet Parking

It appears Alan still thinks he heads Jet*, because QF is loosing PAX on the international routes faster than 'Yasi' hit the North Coast, but Jet* is picking up thru S/E Asia area.
If J.B. goes for Asia with J, Y+, and Y in say A330's he'll rock Jet*'s offering, and QF will be behind the proverbial 8 ball after having passed their financially sound routes to their LCC 'child'.

Cheers Dee

I don't think it's that simple. VAustralia couldn't make HKT (or JNB) work, and has been reported to be a drag on overall group profits. Flying to places like HKG, SIN or NRT - wealthier economies with people/companies who have the money to burn on full service airlines, plus India / China (growth markets where corporates are trying to get into). Full service to Manila or Bali or coughet - no point.

have been told the cabin crew will be wearing their new uniforms from 23rd feb, can't wait to see what they look like !

I'm flying Pacific Blue on the 24th so I'll be sure to grab some snaps

More professional. Although I hear a tie with short sleeves is too Homer to be professional.......

It's beginning to look like 23 Feb, half year results day, will be the day of the relaunch...

You two nailed the date.

Wonder what uniforms the Ground Crew will be wearing, outsourced and in house. You could argue that the current ground crew have the same uniform as Cabin Crew. Compared to say carriers like Tiger, in which Aerocare provide their own uniforms to differentiate from the airline (not that the majority of pax know that).

What about VAus? New uniform also??

New uniforms for everyone! Well not quite. New if you fly. New eventually for the others.

Why don't we just all agree to rebrand all four airlines to "Virgin on the Ridiculous" and be done with it?!

That's exciting! So what do people think the new name will be for Virgin Blue? Virgin Pacifc, Virgin Australia, V Australia?

I'm hoping it's Virgin Australia but i think it will end up being Virgin Pacific! They all sound quite good. Bring it on ;)

More ridiculous than Qantas, Qantaslink, Jetconnect, Jetstar etc etc?

To most ppl I think Virgin is Virgin if you are flying to Sydney, Abu Dhabi, Auckland or Samoa :)

A mate of mine is an E-jet captain with Virgin. I SMSd him about the 23 Feb date and got donuts (ie. nothing) back. Interesting. The only thing I have been able to ascertain is the coughpit crew are being issued with RM Williams boots. He offered his pair to me because he's not an RM kind of guy but then found out they are apparently DJ special issue!
