My DJ pilot friend has sent me a couple of photos of the new uniform: plain and professional. Black pants and jacket (or very dark blue; a bit hard to tell from the photos) with matching tie and the typical bands around the jacket cuff indicating rank. Plain white shirt.

I guess he forgot to read the agreement he signed when he collected his uniform re not distributing photos prior to the launch.

I am quite surprised how under wraps they have managed to keep it so far!

it was probably not in checklist format so they could not understand it ;).

Okay, okay. He's resisted my pleas up until now. Go easy; I didn't need to post it!

At least you didn't post the photos online that he sent you.

Hopefully he isn't running round trying to get alterations like some are.

Reports on Facebook that new brand will be released today.....

This from Virgin Blue on FB:

"Today is a big day - we reveal our new look for the runway!"

Could be just the new uniforms or something more maybe?

I'm in the lounge now and nothing is different that I can tell, all ofthe DJ staff that I've seen look the same but maybe they won't wear the new uniform until after the official launch today, so they will be wearing them from tomorrow.

We'll see once we get on the plane, 30 min delays getting out of SYD this morning due to ATC apparently.

I would expect that they would wait till the official press launch ,would be really unprofessional to just have new livery or uniforms appear "out of the (Virgin) blue"!
Guess we will have to wait for the official annnouncement.
Cheers

Speaking to a nice lady in check in last week she did say ground staff would be the last to receive new uniforms, so you may still see cabin crew in new uniforms in the air today. Ground staff hadn't even received them late last week, so may not even have them tomorrow.

I’ve seen an image showing officers along with male and female cabin crew, but promised not to post it, though see no reason sharing just that tidbit now.

Virgin expected to post HY profit decline | News | Business Spectator
Travellers and investors alike hope chief executive John Borghetti sheds more light on Virgin Blue Holdings Ltd's new products beyond the confirmed new uniform when he delivers the airline's half year results.
The airline group, comprising Virgin Blue, Polynesian Blue, Pacific Blue and V Australia, has foreshadowed - through an earnings downgrade last month - that first half profit would be weaker due to the effect of the Queensland floods and weak consumer sentiment.
Hence, with little surprise expected from the financial numbers, much interest is expected to centre on whether Mr Borghetti will reveal more details on his strategy to capture a greater share of corporate travellers.
The Virgin Blue boss could unveil Virgin Blue's new domestic business class product, an alliance with an Asian carrier, new routes and even a new name for the airline group.
Or potentially, none of the above.
What is known is that cabin crew will start wearing new uniforms from Wednesday.
Cheers

I guess people shouldn't be shy of posting piccies of the uniforms if they are in the ASX announcement!

(and the turboprops are ATR's!)

Business class doesn't look quite lie flat - but not bad - can see why QF responded with Skybeds.

The whole thing is a bit underwhelming. Virtually everything on there has been predicted in one way or another on this forum. And to top it off, most of it is not being unveiled until later in the year. The J class seats don't look too bad though...

I think people were expecting too much today. But some good idea of where the product is going.

Agreed, although they could have revealed a little more around planned enhancements to the domestic product, rather than just saying calling it a "new product", and maybe a little more to the revamping of Velocity.
