Hooray to an OOL lounge!:p
HBA next? Yeah, I'm dreaming I know but a small one like the ADL Lounge would be nice.

Apologies if this post offends anyone.

Waited all this time for an exciting announcement? So we have A330's on SYD-PER, business class, superior economy class, new uniforms, ATR's, new lounge in OOL, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Without sounding selfish, as an economy traveller extremely loyal to Qantas what do the new changes do for me?

Not much :)

Interesting how suddenly out of nowhere QF is offering extra flights PER to everywhere and now selected planes on routes out of PER are also getting Skybeds as of May. _May_ being the key here, exactly the same month as DJ is starting their stuff. Pretty blatant that - goodness. Proof I guess that competition is a good thing.

Probably about as much as the October "Enhancements",NGCI,and putting skybed equipped 744's on a daylight SYD-PER service have done/will do for this loyal QF flyer.
I'm much more interested in trying DJ's A330 than I am a skybed 744.

Nothing directly, although you may get some indirect benefits through product competition. But, ask yourself this - if you don't support the competition, do you deserve to get any benefit?

Perhaps I don't deserve to get any benefit but who said I don't support the competition? It is not my fault that QF has cheaper airfares and a much better product including aircraft and seats.

Waiting to see what DJ has to offer and so far all they have done is taken care of PER. Continue to tease about Velocity changes and possible membership in a global alliance.

Not bad for me - I'm from PER. All service improvements and competition gratefully accepted :)

I'm not complaining either - being from Perth originally. Make a few trips a year across the big brown land (well at the moment it is more green on this side, and brown on the Perth side)

Main downside is that the action is really out of Sydney at the moment, so being in Melbourne requires some backtracking to take advantage.

Saw my first ever QF DOM J ad on tv last night! Had a chuckle to myself, they must be feeling at least a little threatened by Virgin.

Biggest part of that article is perhaps not that 'Blue' is going, but that 'Virgin' is staying.

Virgin Australia or Virgin Pacific have to be locks now.
I heard a pretty strong rumour recently that it's going to be Virgin Australia and I think they may go with that, and it's a good name but the only problem would be that it would sort of leave Pacific Blue without an identity, unless of course they are planning on selling Pac Blue?
