I need to book x15 SYD-NAN return flights for a work conference in May

I've been keeping an eye out for sales (QF/FJ, JQ and VA) and saw a Fiji sale pop up today on VA. Unfortunately, there were only 2 tickets available at the sale price, so I contacted Virgin Group Bookings. They got back to me with a "quote" giving me $11 off SYD-NAN and $9 off NAN-SYD per ticket (bless them!), but then added a $30 ticket fee - per ticket

So overall it would cost MORE than if I were to just book the tix online - even without the 2 sale fares included

IS THIS NORMAL? Why do they exist if they offer fares more expensive than their own website?

You will normally find that group bookings will have more flexible rules ( things like name changes, change fees , ticket payment dates etc) than a booking made online with a normal fare. Check the conditions of both and if you require flexibility

A friend will call VA regarding group booking for SYD-OOL and return in May. Interesting to see what they can offer but not sure they can beat the 10% off codes.

Update: Flight Centre offered $100 per ticket above website fare....baahhaahhaaa

I ended up bumping half my staff to JQ, then using 10% off code on the remaining VA fares....done and on budget!
