Virgin Happy Hour [Thursdays]

Happy Hour specials have really dropped off! Perth often doesn't even feature now as a departure point whereas there were always plenty of specials from Perth in the past. Used to eagerly await Thursday's specials but the sparkle has well and truly gone!

You also need to be careful of the fare class.

I put in a missing points claim today for a BNE-WLG flight last week only to be told it was not eligible for points

All revenue fare classes with VA flight numbers on VA metal should be eligible but with earn as low as 5SC for a short segment.

The missing points form rejected my flight as ineligible. I think I need to ring

Is there going to be a Happy Hour today? With the double SCs I'd like to take advantage...

And as soon as I posted that I got the email!

Some "interesting" routings today, to name a few:

Adelaide to Broome
Cairns to Ayers Rock (Uluru)
Darwin to Launceston
Tamworth to Adelaide / Perth

Good to see some different options for the regions.

Good point, but surprising to see Cairns to Ayers Rock as I'd have thought that mainland Chinese tourists would fill that sort of a flight most days.

They are all very small markets: how many in Tamworth want to fly to Perth, even at a cheaper price?

Interesting this week includes Sydney <> Melbourne between 10 Dec 2018 and 10 Jan 2019 at $109. Availability does exist all over the holiday dates.

The first happy hour of the year (today's) is normally really good. However, not great this year as it's more in line with recent offerings.

Not so happy for Darwin.

I recently bought 2 x tickets for family DRW-SYD-DRW for Feb at $315 return ($158 each way which surprised me) and now $495.
