Bit tired of seeing the SYD lounge 'menu' stating pancakes but no machine in sight :(

Don't most people call claims like that, lies?

It appears to me, as a long time VA client, that these misnomers masquerading as "service delivery faults", may in fact be simple and possibly illegal, deceptions!

But hey, seems enough so called "important people" are comfortable with being a mug ... So who am I to argue!

As it happens, most people also don't report such failures, either out of lack of motivation to do so, "letting it slide" or disenchantment.

So, nothing changes.

One way to fix the pancake thing? They take the menu card away and put a big white tape thing over "Pancakes". Solved! :o

Yep. Trouble is, they didn't! Pointing out the remedy, does not remove the mistake.

And, the muesli is excellent :-)

Havent tried the selection avaipable. I liked the bircher but havent seen that for a few weeks so did not mention it. Am back in the lounge on Friday, will try the selection
Thanks Pdog!!

I wouldn't be game to try, but what if a customer took to the menu card and crossed out "Pancakes" with a felt pen? :)

Could even leave a post-it note: "Fixed for you. You're welcome!"

Or they could just serve the pancakes as advertised?

Well my solution is cheaper, but yours is admittedly batter... er, I mean, better :D

When I have time I do enjoy a ham, cheese and tomato toastie.

A lot of the time in the Sydney lounge they don't actually have the machine accessible, they make them in the kitchen on the machine and put them on the hot plate for self serve. What's worse is that sometimes they 'forget' to restock or cease serving the pancakes far too early in the morning leaving us just with the cold foods, baked beans and toast. Even though the menu states that it's a breakfast item.. Ugh..

Seconded, if you come into the lounge with an expectation of just eating the muesli, you'll be satisfied. Expecting bacon in the lounge.. you're probably due for rude awakening..

I totally agree they should be delivering what they advertise, but I personally have no interest in eating hot breakfast food that's been sitting around, particularly at OMG o'clock when I'm in a hurry. To me, eggs & bacon are for the weekend, or when I have time for an unhurried breakfast and most importantly, it's cooked to order! So I'm ok with the current morning selection (particularly while the coffee has aways been great in Melbourne!)

But, given the onboard offerings now, I would love to see a something better (not hotdogs!!) of a late afternoon especially now daylight savings means the trip home from Brisbane is 3 hours!

+1 I also really enjoy a bacon sarnie on a morning flight, so stop hating on the bacon guys.

It's prob stating the obvious, but has anyone formally *written* a complaint letter to Virgin about the pancake machine? As someone that is forced to drink soy coffees (no-one drinks it unless they have to) it used to really irk me that the Lounge used "So Good" to make soy coffees (So Good is no good, unless you enjoy lumpy coffee that tastes like hair), I sent a letter in explaining that So Good might be cheaper but it ruins coffees and that Vitasoy and Bonsoy would be better choices. They've changed and kept the change ever since (~2yrs). Was really happy with how responsive they were.

The little weird egg and pea and maybe potato or what ever it is things are actually really nice.

As are the toasted egg and bacon sangas in J....despite being just a toasted sanga. A quiche with salad or something would be really nice.

Well I solved the pancake mystery today! Advertised in SYD but not there. Was told they are only available from 7am! They were out at 9am still in BNE.

Not sure what is stopping them having it out for first hour.

lol I actually like the hotdogs, though they are basically the $1 hotdogs you would get from 7/11 They need more party pies, sausage rolls, quiches etc

Omg they listened!!! Mini pies in the Perth lounge tonight!! Perfect!!! :)
