Card Offers Virgin Money Velocity Flyer Credit Card: Up to 60,000 bonus Velocity Points

From memory I never received a confirmation email, but got an approval TXT within about 18 hours of application.
Thank you, I managed to get them to send me a confirmation email but just now I received an email asking to provide ID, even though I just did 🤦. This time with a 202303xx something or other application ID.

it just keeps getting worse ..

I applied one day ago. I hope to receive confirmation on Monday. There is no reason to decline me. My last card which was a NAB was approved within one business day.

I applied last week on Monday. They called me on Tuesday to confirm a few things. I called Thursday midday to follow up and got approval sms/email Thursday around 6pm. Waiting for the card now

Ok thank you, so I have an idea of the timeframe, the confirmation for the actual application came thru Thursday afternoon so fingers crossed the whole thing should be approved by Monday or Tuesday. Will ring them back then

Anyone know if there’s any avenue to discuss missing the bonus points threshold for a month? I had a few separate transactions that didn’t clear before my statement date, and I’ve missed out on the $1500 threshold by about $20.

I’d probably just lodge a complaint and ask them to credit it. It’s probably within the realm of Citi letting it go. An AFCA escalation will definitely do it.

But where do you complain to? The T&Cs say any complaints must be made within 6 months.... but nothing further.

Has anyone else had issues with their application for this card?

I've called three times now over the past couple of weeks, and even though I applied on the 5th March they claim that they will get back to me with a decision in 24-48hrs. When you check online with the reference number, it says that they are reviewing my application.

That being said, I've tried twice now with another application since, using a different browser with cleared cache and cookies, and never received a confirmation email with my reference number.

Let us know how you go with the whole process
My application was approved today. So it took 1.5 days for approval.

Haven’t done it for this card but there has to be a complaints page on the Virgin Money website

I was told by the call centre to use this email - [email protected]
Mine took about a month , with various docs being asked for twice and just nothing happening unless I called. So I got fed up and lodged a complaint theough the email. Next day card was approved, so it does help escalating it. I suspect with NAB buying the card business there is zero care at Citi atm.

PS special is gone. Its now only 60,000 velocity points, earned in two months ( 30,000 each), so count yourself lucky if you got the previous offer.

I'm a bit confused and frustrated. I received my card yesterday in the mail, activated it and today received my first monthly statement for $64 (card fee). This is ridiculous I've now missed out on the first month 25K points because of this unfair statement period. Screw you NAB, when Citi dealt with this the statement period was much more fair.

Don't stress to much, all might be fine. After I was approved (but days before I got my card), I was emailed a statement showing $0 balance, over the period of 20 March-20 March. As I didn't have my card I hadn't even managed to activate it.

I had to speak to customer service a week later on another issue, and asked about it while I was on the phone. They told me it's common, not to worry, a statement is often triggered with a new account. He said my 1st statement period will be from 20 March-20 April. If you're worried call and ask them to confirm similar for you.

Just call and complain regarding a short statement period, they'll provide you with the full allocation of points.

I sent a message through my account on their web site. I recived a phone call roughly a week later and was told my statement period will begin from when I activated the card, so all good. I think they automatically generate a statement when the card is activated for the card fee.

I have got my first statement on 2 May, it showed 25K points (plus 1321 points earned in the statement period), but these have not come across to Velocity in the time since. I am still getting velocity points from 7 eleven and even the status credits from a flight last night have already posted, but still nothing of the 26321 points from this card. Do they normally take a long time to come across?
