Virgin regularly cancelling flights?

This would appear to be the start of the Australian version of the UKs ‘pingdemic’ where so many people were getting contact and isolation messages (pings) that they deleted the notification app.

(note the date...)

How did our covid task force not see the same happening here?

Happening in the US and EUR as well according to the Wall Street Journal. Staff having to isolate causing major crewing issues.

Happening with the US3 for a while now. UA and B6 (a non US3 carrier) seems to be the biggest hit. DL and AA whilst having some cancellations doesn't seem to be too badly affected (again due to the larger staff pool).

Mrs and Mstr Scarlett have had their J CNS-ADL flight cancelled 6 days out, so at least this change is proactive. VA have moved them over to similar J seats CNS-MEL-ADL but at a less preferable time.

A fortunate element is that with VA bonus SC being given out at the moment, the extra segment SCs will push Mstr Scarlett up to Platinum.

Fingers crossed no other changes.

More cancellations out of Tassie - it seems their newer routes are getting the chop. Had some friends affected by the HBA-ADL cancellation, luckily though this time it was cancelled day before, they were able to rebook onto the direct QF service. The VA agent wanted to give them credit but they escalated and got a refund instead. I think they get to try the new QFLink E-190 service now!

SA are also refusing travel tests for all jurisdictions that require them, which still includes Tasmania. That is going to play into cancellations soon.

I actually prefer the E190 on that route.

Not sure I understand?

Again it’s a route that probably can only profitably carry that sized aircraft. I can’t wait to fly the QFLink E-190 it’s the only QF group aircraft type I haven’t flown yet. That and the Fokker.
