Virgin to charge for Seat Selection - WP/SG Exempt

I am a silver and it let me select any seat from Row 3 down last week, definitely a bug, needless to say I took advantage of that lol
Just had the same. Went through check in, tried to move to from 6C to 7D, got told i've already booked Economy X so i'd be forfeiting that payment, So i moved up to 4C for free. Happy with that for the flight to Perth! haha.

I think VA risks losing business travellers here. Hear me out.

I think many corporate travel requires BFOD but excludes LCC like J*, Bonza, Rex, Tiger (when they were around). If VA are determined to be a LCC, then all those corporate travellers will only have one choice.

I think VA really need to be careful about that scenario.

I'm not sure I'd call Rex a LCC.
 
Agree. Rex mainline offers more service than VA.
I'd say they are a so-called "Full Service" providing the same stuff VA 1.0 (The Biscuits and the "Finger Food" in Y) with J Meals although REX reportedly claimed they're not 'full service' and that they're a "Value (plus) Carrier".
