Would any other airline in the world honor such an obvious mistake? Gotta love Virgin.

Im sure there are others who would honor things like this, I've even had a free up grade honoured by United. Which while a surprise they didn't flinch and I was wished luck with it.

I am glad Virgin did not try and cancel it.

But if they did would be bad publicity for them.

Well done VA for honouring it. It is not easy especially it was promoted in FB. Hope that means more people are converted to VA. I knew I have.

Kudos to Virgin for honouring the booking.

People really wanting an email like that may still have a chance to get one.

I didn't know Virgin were flying to Yangon these days. :p

Kudos for honoring.

I saw the original thread (my post #2) but with baby number three just arrived, there was no way i could justify a trip to bali (without the family!!)

If you guys were eskimos Virgin would be selling you ice...

This error happened as part of the Sabre transition. It sounds really nice that VA are saying "this one's on us" but in reality this one is on Sabre. They would have revenue guarantees in the transition contract that would mean Sabre has to cough up for errors like this.

Have a peek at the Velocity T&C's Section 13.1.9 (b,c,&d). They can cancel or sub them if they wanted to.

Good luck to all those that got one. A few of my mates got them, and I had the chance myself but VA would need to give me $120 to fly to Bali regardless of the seat.

Cheers,

Boof

Liking the responses I am reading... After the tirade's about seat selection, SC posting etc.. Its nice to see..

That wasn't the only cheap fare they offered.

If they were pro-active with this online community and acknowledged they have issues maybe they would have fixed their technical glitches a lot earlier. What JB told the market about the Sabre migration seems to have stretched the truth in areas a lot of us know and have experienced just don't work. I just wonder how any of this would not fall foul of ASIC continuous disclosure guidance.

My latest one is being surcharged effectively 21.77% to pay the taxes on some rewards seats instead of another 8,000 points.

$100 fare is Virgin on crazy Travel - The Mercury - The Voice of Tasmania

So it has finally hit mainstream papers - Oh wait.... It's the Mercury... ;)

This could be a marketing nightmare, better to lose a few J airfares than heaps of bad media.

We had an ad produced wrong monthly price but as we put it in the media we honoured it.

Cost was app $800 per unit we sold.

It was not a huge mover so that was some good news.

The fall out would have been huge if it was not honoured or we tried to renege on the deal.

A line would have to be drawn somewhere if we were talking thousands of flights sooner or later they can't give them all away

I don't know why however I read this post's title as Virgin's DIRTY Little Secret. Great post and lucky for the people who have got a great deal from Virgin.
