Having parked my behind in the leather seats installed in the new BSI planes, I can confirm that the leather is of a much higher quality than what you'd see on JQ or the "old" DJ planes .. kind of the difference between real leather and vinyl (OK perhaps not that dramatic, but you get what I mean).

I've been lucky enough to fly the 'new almost finished but not quite next gen 737' a couple of times now.

Seats are a bit hard but I'm sure with repeated use they will soften.

Seat next to me was already slashed! Looked intentional which is really disappointing (I mean why?!). Guess VA still has a large chunk of it's old LCC pax! I informed the trolley dolly.

Seat is leather so still feels cheap and LCC. Looks better than old one.

Headrest was really stiff and hard. Again will hopefully loosen and soften with age.

For a "checkout chic" you certainly have status in enough schemes!

Even checkout chicks find ways to get comp'd status!

Im particularly interested in the new layout of the aircraft. Being the realist, I will keep saying that a new uniform, a coat of paint and a whole heap of promisses don't make a new airline, however in saying that, the moves that the airline (and still making) is making is a breath of fresh air in the AU market place, and even though I cannot dedicate work travel to them, I am now starting to fly VA on my weekly commutes between MEL/SYD and noticing huge changes - free drinks and snack packs on Y (bucket) fares and a general more professional approach towards business travellers.

The new aircraft will move them to the next level, as will the roll out of new interiors for the existing fleet! :)

Hopefully, now I've upgraded to PE on Thursday, DJ may just grace me with a BSI beauty. Now that would be cool .

OMG finger crossed my PE ticket latter this year is in a new interior aircraft/BSI *crosses everything*

Hey Noob.........I had no such luck this morning, but..................this afternoon it seems (barring last minute changes ), I'm PE on a BSI beauty :p.........way to go DJ, you listened to my wish.

So right now, I've tried the priority entry/screening at SYD, had a nice feed and hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll get to try the J seats in the BSI 800s as well as getting J SCs on a PE fare...........now that's cool!
