Virgins Pie In the Sky suggestions (new menu coming)

And the pumpkin soup is gone too . It was delicious and only a packet mix......where's the problem there? What an unusual change just when they're trying to lure business (not necessarily business class) pax.

I agree with above comments, they're opening up space for the J menu, but coughping on their non-J guests from a great height is not wise business either, I would have thought. Given the most adverse comments of late have revolved around seating and food (predominently the lounge food), this "enhancement" is just pure unadulterated shyte!

I hope DJ note, most of their so called "fan-boys" have posted negatively against this change so far! As Liam says.........rotate, not remove!

Big thumbs DOWN for this from me.

Bring back the hot chocolate! Not everyone drinks tea or coffee.

And I see the pie now has mushrooms - excellent.:D

Another huge thumbs down and agree - the two fan bois even think its bad so this must be catastrophic ;)

Clearly some LCC stalwarts still survive at the Virgin Village ;) This is now looking like a cinema menu (and no not Gold Class!)

Think Jetstar tops this now.

Another fail Virgin. Sorry.

Agreed Steve! Loved having hot chocolates at 40,000 feet on a 6am flight with a nice muffin :D.

Oh please tell me it doesn't. I hate mushrooms!!
Is that coz they keep them in the dark and feed them bulls**t? they would be great mushrooms if they fed them
on the content of some threads here on AFF.
(No names,no pack drill)
Cheers

I concur. I flew SYD-BNE today and was VERY disappointed with the menu options. The people around me (in row 3) were all asking for things that weren't available and the cabin crew were apologetic to the point of "no, we don't understand it either". I assume there is some desire to rationalise the menu but they seemed to have screwed it on this one.

They took out the cheese and replaced it with sun dried tomatoes. I guess the ham was too expensive.:(

Seriously, I thought there must have been some pages missing. It was pathetic. Maybe they are cutting way back on the regular menu and are about to launch the premium menu? (Note on the website there are two links - one for regular and one for premium - but they both go to the same place for now)

Can you provide a screenshot for this on the website? I couldn't find it.

And I'm another VA fan who is disapointed by the new menu, some decent sandwich options would be great especially when on shorter flights pies are not likely to be available.

Just had a quick look at the JQ menu at it looks much better for variety.

To the same old menu at that.

I hope the A330 has a better menu for the trans-con!

Just did the same and agree!

Really weird... Unless VA are cutting back, then plan to re-re launch to make it seem even better? cough strategy if so!

Maybe they got scared about food poisoning more people and wanted to simplify!? ;)

One positive is that the pies are now on "selected flights" rather than just flights > 2 hours. Well, they were anyway, but now it's official

And I like mushrooms. Especially in pies.

I agree that it's generally a pretty coughpy menu.

So there is now nothing on the menu that I can eat. As a regular SYD / Perth flyer I might seriously have to consider going over to the dark side. Yes VA you have one peeved off to be Gold member next week afte4 my PE flight back to SYD.

What the hell do I get for my 3 & 7 year old to eat?

I hope they still have the pie! I haven't had one yet and I have my first DJ evening flight >2 hours on the 14th! Everything else I have been doing has been MEL-SYD returns so haven't had a chance to have one yet!

One of the best offerings going on a domestic flight in any class, in any market.

Finally got to try it a few months ago in W on a MEL-BNE run.

Some of the scuttlebutt in this thread about prep time is way off....

You know what would be great? A couple of different pies to choose from - the pies are popular take the hint!

Would they like a pie or would they share a noodle salad? With some M&M's of course! Your three year old might like some cheese and biscuits I have heard good reports about them with young kids on Virgin

I flew SYD- OOL yesterday afternoon and the guy next to me ( row 4 ) had a crownie with his flexi fare meal. So ther're not dead yet.

Me too, I actually hadn't tried one of the pies but was planning to at some stage due to the comments of how good they were, now no chance, Mushrooms :(
