Hmm, interesting. I finished on 400 too. Didn't bother with the challenge as don't see a huge difference between SG and WP. But more than happy to keep it for another year. Overall was pretty happy with the service by DJ for 2012.

This is almost turning out like that ill-fated email many years ago when everyone was upgraded to Gold... despite not really doing anything to earn it

Things like this are really starting to piss me off with VA. I earnt 400SC's last year to retain Gold, why wasn't I upgraded to Platinum VA !!!!

If VA keep this up it will be over to the dark side for me, all I have to do then is get status matched in their next round and take a J flight or two and bingo Platinum. Why would you bother flying VA in order to EARN the required SC's when they just give away status.

I then added 400SC in the past twelve months, so it's obvious that the Status Match worked for them, even if it was just for my business. I don't know if I'll get the WP retain with 400, and I certainly don't expect it, but let's face it, there is a serious battle on at the moment between DJ and QF on the domestic network, and people working in loyalty have clearly decided that some people are worth keeping sweet, even if they didn't hit 800SC.

Obviously the status match didn't work for them as they would have liked, otherwise freebies wouldn't be given out left right and centre to status matched pax.

If one of them is a QF P1, and the other a QF SG, then it's pretty obvious which one has more potential to bring business over to Virgin.
