Wendouree allocations and general discussion

Just FYI, I had a 2008 Malbec today at a long lunch with some colleagues. Gee I thought it was ordinary.

I'm not sure that I'd paid attention to the fact previously that the alcohol content is not listed anywhere on the label for Wendouree wines.
What was that year like?

Datapoint: form stamped "2019", NSW, form received by Wendouree 10/7 and surname right at the back, most likely will get nothing.

My card has been billed today. Looks like I'm getting about a third of my request which is the worst I've gone in the last 5 years.

QLD here, green crayon and first time for me.

CC not hit yet, I ordered a mix of absolutely everything expecting to get 1 or two bottles here and there.

Gutted! 😢 (Red crayon, Vic)

I just got my cc hit for just 6 Shiraz/Malbec out of the 24 wines I ordered 😕.

You would think in a pandemic I would have had a better chance this year of getting my full order, but apparently not.

This is the lowest amount I have ever gotten from them....

Guess I shouldn’t have called to check I put down the right details, must of pissed them off.

It's a very high quality low yielding vintage. Few are getting everything they asked for and it seems that most people have ordered this year despite the pandemic.

I'm not sure why some have the opinion that Wendouree would be so pretty and spiteful that they would cut your order for making a phone call but I doubt that is the case. (If it were you wouldn't have got anything)

I haven't seen many Erin Larkin reviews but I did have a bit of an eye roll yesterday when I saw a retailer mailout for the new Grosset rieslings and she was quoted as giving 98 points to the 2020 Alea riesling. Some of those Wendouree scores also look a little inflated (especially the 2017's which are generally regarded as good but not great).

Nick Stock also tends to go a bit wild with his scores and throws out 100's like it's nothing.

The Winefront are my go to reviewers.

qld update , i ordered 4 cases and mix of all. I was red crayon last year and no crayon this year which was odd? CC nailed for $210.60 .....eeeeik seems a lean year. Lucky i loaded up on Standish and Sami Odi, but hey ill take a few bottles as its my Sons birthyear. all the tension, now i can relax
