Wendouree allocations and general discussion

Just had my card hit - red crayon QLD. Looks like I'm getting 18 of 30 bottles ordered. Happy with that, hopefully I got filtered down across the range and didn't miss out on anything completely.

Red crayon Vic

I just called them “to make sure my CC details were right”... 😉😉

They told me they have sent a small amount to Vic so far but will be sending more in the next week or so...

if I get a hit I will let everyone in know.

fingers crossed !

Melbourne metro red crayon since 2013. CC just got charged yesterday - I asked for 2 of each except muscat so I think I have missed out on 2 out of 12 which is ok. I hope I got a Cab Sav this year...

Just FYI, I had a 2008 Malbec today at a long lunch with some colleagues. Gee I thought it was ordinary.

I'm not sure that I'd paid attention to the fact previously that the alcohol content is not listed anywhere on the label for Wendouree wines.

On reflection the cork may have been tainted.

The first real in depth session I had with Malbec was a few weeks tasting in Argentina, covering most of the big names. Really started to see what the Malbec craze that grips the Americas was all about. However, even some of the biggest names (e.g. Achavel Ferrer) warned that the wines would not age beyond 5-10 years; which was an interesting admission for 100 USD+ wines.

I'm always surprised when people rave about aged Wendouree Malbec, what makes it so different (i.e. ageworthy) from the Argentinian stuff?

- n.b. had plenty of Wendouree but never a Malbec from memory - so I could be missing something very obvious.
