Wendouree allocations and general discussion

Don’t think Im much help here but red crayon, metro Vic, nothing so far. I’ve gone on a spending spree instead to make most of the 30% price drop in the Bordeaux en primeur and got a bottle of Lafite. 🥳

Interested. 30% drop from last year or a recent 30% drop on original EP pricing for the 2019 vintage?

My letter arrived in regional Tas today as well, also returned.
No charge yet, but my form was a week later than normal/others this year

Lowly red crayon, I place pretty well the same order every year (18) and have been lucky so far
Its very very early days still - the roller-coaster has only just crested and beginning its ride down the other side (IMO)
My CC was charged for the full order late yesterday.

Called, confirmed they've got my form and get to hear the usual spiel. Maybe this is just too much effort.

Didn't ask when they've said yields are lower than the previous 2 years when I get no straight shiraz or cab (despite other red crayons and even newbs managed to get some).

Neither have the same following. Perhaps you should just buy at retail for triple the price? Then you can order online.

It’s the wendouree waltz ! It’s half the fun , will they choose me will they not , the tension is palpable and worth every cent. Not to mention you end up with quality wine at yesterday’s prices. Love it

Part of the allure of Wendouree is its scarcity, re-sale value, long cellaring requirement & the quirks of the order system. Am sure there are many who would readily take your place on the list. At the owners age I see there being little chance of change - having visited the site and spent time with them i wouldnt change a thing. Its bloody good booze also

Well said (one caveat though, resale is not a concern for me, all for personal consumption).
For each one dropping off the list, there are many more waiting in the wings.

in saying that , i was red , now blank and 2018 is my sons birthyear if I get dumped from the big dance , then ill take my bat and ball and walk straight into Standish next offering with my extra gold coins.

Hi all, (red crayon here Vic.)

I have watched this thread for the last two years during the nervous waiting period on “what & when” we will get.

Yes, I can see the point that there is an online aspect to ”other” wineries, but there isn’t enough made and would be too easy for people to sign up and we would all get less.

I also like the “old school“ feel of having to write and send away, then wait for ages to find out what we get.

My credit card hasn’t been hit yet, but hoping for it any day, and when it has I will be here next year waiting and reading your posts...lol

hope everyone is well and safe,
