Wendouree allocations and general discussion

This is definitely not correct.

You have also missed 'no marking'.
No marking is first year on the list and then it seems you move to green year 2. I’m not stating my logic as fact but that seems to be as close as I get on the various markings. I’ve not heard of anyone moving up or down in the past 10 years aside from no marking to green marking. I think they make exceptions - eg I read Mike Bennie say he had initials but I doubt he has been on the list for 30+ years.

Keen to hear your expert opinion.
I've outlined the information about the ranking system previously in this thread as clearly as I could. There is a very clear hierarchy and loyalty is rewarded. You are completely mistaken if you think otherwise, but go ahead and imagine how things work in your own way if this makes you happy.

I'm aware of at least 30 examples of this occuring. All relate to improving position. IE they have changed crayon colours or moved to signature.

But as I have indicated previously there's nothing you can do about the ranking system, except order something every year. Eventually you will get more of what you ask for. There's no need to over analyse the system that they have used for decades. In the same way that there's no value in
criticising their choice not to engage with online ordering. They have a clear system and intend to keep using it.

I've been following this thread for a few years now and reckon it's awesome.
I have been on the W/L for 4 years, but only received my first order form this year. No crayon of course. Sent it straight in with an order for 6 of everything. That was a month ago. Of course I wasn't really expecting to get much(?anything?), but then I realised that a few of you guys send by registered post so when the credit card wasn't getting pinged I was getting paranoid that the form hadn't made it back to the winery. So I called them yesterday
Thought I would give a first hand account of the phone call. She was very polite and said yes my form had arrived. I asked her what my chances were and she said " well... I'm not sure. There have been a lot of big orders, like yours(!), and you are a first year orderer, so.....".
Doesn't sound good for me then!!
Interestingly, when she asked my name she then asked what state I was in (WA): perhaps that's how they are filed?
Also, she pronounced Wendouree differently to how I had heard it pronounced before.
Thought I would pass this on as I hadn't read this info in the thread before. congrats to those lucky ones out there in The Lottery

Welcome and good info. I made it to Green crayon this year, only order a mixed 6, nothing yet in Vic.

Thanks for that. I wonder if anyone can share TWF tasting notes for the Wendouree 2022 vintage that were apparently published?
they haven't been published yet, but why not just subscribe anyway?

at only $69 for a year, it could be the best value wine buy/decision/investment you'll make :)

you mean such as Wine Companion and Real Review, which are more expensive - but less updated and interactive - than Winefront, and whose reviews/ratings can often be found publicly online anyway?

Got a hit on my card yesterday for circa ~$1300. I think when adding it all up originally it should have been ~$1800 so missed a few things, but still a good haul. Will see what I get when it arrives.
Well done. They apparently sold out of Shiraz 24b shiraz, so if you ordered a 6 pack of it, that would amount to $470ish delivered depending on your location

And the Wine Orbit!

I've been on the list for a few years and had credit card charged for the first time. How long does it normally take between credit card charge and likely receiving order? VIC based.

I'd say keep an eye out on your Au post app

PS, just got the message from Au post that the delivery is due on Monday. And my card got hit this Monday. I am in NSW. But not in any rush as the drinking window probably doesn’t start until 2100

Also still waiting in Vic - historically they've still been processing till end of August. Just takes time (and luck)
