Wendouree allocations and general discussion

Agreed just went the one to max a mixed dozen - its a long haul wine apparently - treating it as a curio
Think you're right re it being a long haul wine. Was fortunate enough to partake in a 1977 pressings last year and wow what an experience that was. Upon opening there were concerns, decanted for a couple of hours and then drank over 3 hours and it just kept evolving.

If i get any, i can't see them lasting until 2058 - I will be happy to still be around then too!

My, fairly reliable, sources tell me no letter yet received in Wollongong.

I've always wondered are the forms processed as they arrive in Clare or in bulk at a later date?

Grrr, so I received my first letter, and decided to pick a selection of wines, hoping I can get 6 at least, didn’t have any envelopes so popped it into pocket to post when I get to work.
And gone. Must have fallen out when I reached for my opal card.
So annoyed. I’ll ring them tomorrow and hopefully I can still be considered

you better contact your credit card company as well, you have all the details in that form.

Got my mail in Melbourne yesterday. There is a Pressing in this year order. Anyone know much about this wine?

It’s a blend that doesn’t make that often and it’s got to do with the “pressing”technique.

Maybe, im not that familiar with Rockford wines. Let’s just say similar but winemakers has their own ways of making it.

so it's similar to the Basket Press style from Rockford?

From the little I have read, I don't think it the same as the Rockford style - all wines are pressed.

Pressings seem to be the getting all of the already presses grapes and stems that have had the normal juice extracted, then pressing them more than usual to squeeze out some extra.....

This is only my take on what I have read in the last few days so may be entirely wrong...

It won’t be 100% the same, just similar , even the pressing tools is different from winery to winery and it’s up to the winemaker on how to do it during that process.

Firstly for those that didn't read the notes the 'Pressings' is a blend of Shiraz, Malbec and Cabernet.

Second, in this case it will be the later pressings from the fruit which is usually proportionately blended back into the final product (see press fractions) to add body as it will have greater concentration, tannin etc.

Got my first letter yesterday, having written to them earlier in the year asking to be added to mailling list (at which time they said "no, sorry, full" but more eloquently). No signature or crayon mark (no surprise based on the information here) - what do these look like? Anyway, I've sent it back asking for a mixed dozen (4 varieties selected), really just hoping for anything.
