West Hotel, Sydney, a Curio by Hilton hotel

From what I have been able to find out the hotel is expected to open mid to late December.

Hope so. Even the note on the booking page is open to interpretation - "This hotel will soon be joining the Hilton Portfolio of Brands and is presently accepting reservations for arrival February 1, 2018 and beyond".

I like the look of it:

West Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, Sydney Hotel

Prices look reasonable (particularly when compared against Hilton SYD):

Feb 01 Thu — Feb 02 Fri From AU$291
Feb 02 Fri — Feb 03 Sat From AU$246
Feb 03 Sat — Feb 04 Sun From AU$335
Feb 04 Sun — Feb 05 Mon From AU$211
Feb 05 Mon — Feb 06 Tue From AU$291
Feb 06 Tue — Feb 07 Wed From AU$335
Feb 07 Wed — Feb 08 Thu From AU$335
Feb 08 Thu — Feb 09 Fri From AU$291

Now showing pricing from Mon 15 Jan, although the header still says 1 Feb

They are showing parking prices now but at $88 for self park and $95 valet not sure if this is a misprint or what.

Likely to be correct, even the Intercontinental is $65 and no self parking

There is a Hilton Honors Room only sale on right now so you can get the Curio inexpensively at the moment.
Down as low as $214. I made a fully flexible booking for early Feb @ $340 for a King Banksia deluxe room hoping for a suite upgrade before I lose diamond status in March

Cant find any mention anywhere about executive lounge

With no executive lounge and the exorbitant parking fee, is there a reason we would want to stay here still?

Anything to entice status members to stay like Sydney does? (even without the upgrades, a big part of status is lounge)

I still am not that willing to give it a try, given that Sydney would provide this benefit and have a more central location to CBD

Price is the only driving factor ..they have it for 143$ some nights. If Gold/Diamond you will get the Breakfast each day so you are correct you miss out on lounge benefits but likely you will get a full breakfast spread. I expect it will be much cosier than HILSYD ...if that is any consolation.

At 182 rooms it's a much smaller hotel, and I don't think the Curio brand standard requires an EL (heck many Hilton and DTs don't have ELs)

On my "benefits" page of my app it implies the space available upgrade, 1000 bonus points per stay and complimentary Continental breakfast for myself and 1 other person registered to the room. (no mention of full breakfast)

Managed to make a booking from the App.

Dates appear genuine, as they are also running a points promo from 13 Dec:

Never thought to check with the app. Shows points rate on the app but I am unable to see any options when I go to the room type.

One good thing is parking at Wilson's across the road is decent price and earns velocity points which is a bonus.

Digital Key available showing in the booking.

The issues appear to be now sorted out with bookings from December 13 now possible via the website and the App.
