Westpac Altitude Points Devalue September 2016

Well, darn.

This is great news. I always assumed they will roll out the changes. Now that there is a firm date it's much easier to plan when to transfer points and when to stop using the card.

Westpac website now says "The number of Altitude Points required to redeem Gift Cards, Altitude Travel, Merchandise, and selected Frequent Flyer Miles will now be changing on Wednesday, 9 November 2016." Including the 2.5 points for one Singapore Mile....

So I attempted to transfer points with my 15% bonus offer to Velocity.
1. I had to google how to find Altitude rewards on online banking!
2. The system is back to front...where you have to input 1\2 the amount of Altitude points to workout rewards value.
3. I had to contact help line due to name not matching exact Velocity account!
4. Help line automatic message says "VirginBLUE" frequent flyer program.

Pretty P*** poor website and recorded information.......real person answering was very helpful and said they will pass feedback along!

I don't understand. You have two options:

you can enter how many Altitude points you have, and it will tell you how many Velocity points you will get
you can enter how many Velocity points you want, and it will tell you how many Altitude points you need

This is normal for redeeming from bank to airline programs.
