I have to disagree. I think in their revamp Coles did lift their game. Flybuys is just an inherited name, in effect this is a scheme that rewards you with points that get converted to money off for future shopping at Coles or its subsidiaries. If you want airline points then by all means shop at Woolworths, but I find the Woolworths scheme has become so mean that I accumulate very few points for shopping at Woolworths, and the extra points offers are few and far between.
In contrast at Coles I am often getting triple points, special offers of 500 to 1000 points, and extra points for my AGL and Medibank spending. Plus the petrol offers have been better. (Until 31/12/13!). Woolworths have taken a less agressive approach, but have missed out on a lot of my spending, even though my preference is to earn Qantas points. When the value of points at Woolworths is $1.00 compared to $5.00 at Coles, I know where my spend will be.
