What cheeses me off

What is also CMO this week: Going to a concert on Thursday, the venue only just published the timings today and the headline act doesn't even start til 9pm!

Now I am a night owl, but most people are not and have to work the next day and it takes 30-40 mins to get out of the venue once the show is done and limited transport for staff to get home, I really think the main act should go on at 8 (unless a Fri or Sat).

FYI timings are:

6:45pm some local support act I've never heard of, who upon googling is a Gen Z whose music is a genre not likely to resonate with the Gen X audience there for the headline act. Why bother, most will skip her.

7:30 main support act

9 - 11pm main act

We feel there is zero reason to rush after work, are going to eat a nice dinner locally and aim for 8pm arrival to hopefully see the 1 song of the 2nd support act we know.
Matchbox Twenty?

Matchbox Twenty?
Yep, not loving the new album so hope they play a decent amount of classic stuff.

I loathe having to go to Homebush, I miss the Ent Cent and am always happiest when concerts are done at the ICC as so much easier to get and home quickly.

Lots of classics, especially for the encore, they finished smack bang on time and I was in my car on the way home within 20 minutes. I hadn't even heard their new album but I knew almost all the songs played.

OK, this is going to be somewhat controversial...

WCMO - the rise of energy drinks.

Easily in any 7-Eleven or petrol station, at least one whole fridge is just energy drinks.

When I was in Japan recently, same thing. Every drinks vending machine had at least 40% of the machine offering energy drinks. Coffee, tea and especially any other soft drink / juice lines have ceded it to energy drinks. (Yes, I'm well aware that this is a commercial decision - you stock mostly what sells)

Yes, I'm well aware of the "original" keep-me-awakes, coffee and original Coca Cola, and their proliferation (coffee more than anything these days), but oh my word the amount of energy drinks is absolutely insane. Thank goodness they aren't offering these in airline lounges.

Why? Just like the girly magazines, you don’t have to buy them unless you want to.:)

I realise that. I'm just shocked by how much they are selling.

OK so maybe being cheesed off by them is a bit out of place - mods, delete these posts if off topic.
Why? They sell lots of cough but who cares? Capitalism.

No need to delete
It is a what cheeses ME off forum. You have found this irritating which is fine and your opinion was respectful
I hate that junk drink too
My concern is that being on sale publicly kids can get massive caffeine intakes which is not a good thing… but .. thats for parents to police

I looooove Rob Thomas/Santana Smooth!
When I saw Santana he played it
Hope Rob does too for you

I've seem Matchbox Twenty and also Rob's solo concerts every time that they/he have toured Australia so have seen Smooth done live a few times. I just hope they do Bright Lights.

Getting out of Olympic Park is always a nightmare. The train goes to Lidcombe which is the wring direction (and no free parking there); and taxis and Ubers cant get within cooeee.

It will easily take 15 mins to get out of Qudos itself (i just know my sister will want to go to the loo on the way out), then 5 mins to get to Homebush Rd, then we park about another 15 minutes away because the car park is a nightmare often taking an hour to get out.

Just thankful its the night before Ta Tay I can only imagine how bad the vicinity will be Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon.

Not at all.

They are deliberately engineered to be highly addictive and midly, in the short term, toxic and serisouly damaging over the long term. Having sucked your hard earned out of you through addiction, the food industry hands you over the pharmaceutical industry to "fix", ahem, you which really means sell you a bunch of drugs that mask the symptoms but do nothing to cure you because drugs can't actually do that!

Went to Woolworths in Sydney Saturday night. I parked near direct to boot and grabbed a trolley to go inside to do some shopping.

There were 2 unused paperbags in the trolley that Woolworths sell for $1 each with each order. Bought some things for mum and used those paper bags when I got to car.

At home the first paper bag came apart on the balcony and brother took it inside. The other paper bag brother left it on lounge floor. Mum had asked about the flour and I picked up the 2nd paper bag in the lounge and it broke as soon as I picked it up.

FFS. These paper bags are worth cough. Woolworths sell shopping bags for 99c each right? Why not include Woolworths shopping bags with each order? They wouldn't be blatantly making obscene profits on junk paper bags?

P.S. I order boxes of 24 x 600mL water and boxes of 24 x 375mL or 30 x 375 mL Pepsi max for mum and Woolworths charge for 2 paper bags. Seriously?

So you are moaning about paper bags that Woolworths sell but you didn't actually pay for? Did I get that right? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Just noting that at check out right next to the paper bags which are in fact only 25c are the actual re-usable reinforced cloth/recycled plastic bags designed for heavier items. Invest the $2 in one of those and it will last years (unlike the now abandoned thicker plastic throwaway bags).

Common-sense that a paper bag won't support very heavy items if carried by the handles, but does ok if you support from below.

Given you scored the bags for free as they were left behind by someone else don't think you can complain too much.

We’re still using the “throwaway” bags we had stuff delivered to us in during our time in hotel quarantine, so that would be 3 years ago. YMMV.

No. Read the last part. I order lots of things online for mum. The paper bags are useless. It's a rort. Both my brother and mum mentioned this useless rort. They use these paper bags to put rubbish in the kitchen and then they go out to rubbish bin.

Instead of providing junk, Woolworths should include the mesh bags (stronger) they sell for 99c. That would make sense right and Woolworths still make a profit right?

Is that clear? Is my whinge justified or do I have to find a better story?

But everyone has to pay for those bags even families who have to spend hundreds of dollars. Plus - you didn't pay for them anyway. 🤷‍♀️. They are 25 cents.

Ive never done an online order. Are the paper bags compulsory to buy? If not just bring your own.

Just did a dummy booking. You don't have to buy them but can BYO. Sorry. Don't see the issue.
