What cheeses me off

WCMO ..... is when a flight is delayed but it still says check-in when it should say boarding/delayed, as it's 30 mins pre-departure? I'm having a pretty good run on this trip clearly, but my worst delayed leg so far is 23hr15min :) So, a 1 hour delay on this leg isn't too bad! (MRU-TNR).2024-02-24 13.56.46.jpg

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not really that cheesed off but rather I am highly amused!

@Flashback - I have a feeling we will be adding to this thread in 2029 and you will still waiting for your flight

What appeared to be a homeless man sitting outside my GPs practice on Wickham Terrace smoking a cigarette and asking everyone who passes by for spare change.

Stop smoking. I'm not giving you money to buy cigarettes or alcohol.

WCMO -

USA visa application. Web site continuously buggy (loops & related). Every time I call and report, useless call centre somewhere says 'we will escalate, you'll get an e-mail ..'

After 3 weeks, e-mail says check under your profile for resolution.

Resolution is 'Fixed - continue your application'

Resume application - another bug. Call, rinse repeat.

Edit - Cheesy update. Got an e-mail after this mornings call and 'escalation'

Your Case xx_xx_ has been resolved. Please log in to your portal at https://www.usvisascheduling.com/ to view the comment under Feedback/Requests on the Visa Application Home page.

Success! Quick resolution!

So I do that, and it says

We understand you require assistance regarding your visa application.

Please note, we have since escalated your concern to our IT team and this is being further investigated internally.
We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our IT team work on resolving the issue.

So 'resolved' for the USA Visa system has a similar meaning to 'enhanced' with airlines.

If you can't stop gambling then maybe he can't stop smoking -

Why are we comparing the two?

I don't sit in front of buildings harrassing passers by asking for loose change?

P.S. I can stop gambling anytime I want. I don't play pokies much at all. I bet on soccer and UK racing.

Oh and I only drink alcohol when I'm holidaying in Thailand.

Oh and I gave up smoking 20+ years ago.

But I still play golf. For now that's not negotiable.

WCMO is companies that have yet to enter the 21st century and still refer to their skilled "craftsmen" when they employ women as well.
You could express gratitude they acknowledge that the woman's place is not only in the home 😉

(Ducking for cover now )

Or we could, as a general population, stop taking words like "craftsman" to specifically refer to the male of the species and assume it refers to both, as in "human", which refers to both male and female. If we don't do that, we end up with the nonsense that briefly reared its head in the UK when there was a movement that suggested that Manchester should be renamed Personchester!

…many (not all) of the terms which have ‘man’ are derived from the latin manualis meaning of the hand, strength power etc.
🤦‍♀️
