What cheeses me off

Sometimes you just need to observe someone during boarding to know that it's going to be one of those flights. The sign in this instance was boarding Y in QF PJs.

Their shoes in my foot well before take off, reclined all the way into my face during take off and repeatedly having to be asked by crew to put it upright during meal service, and probably 5-6 carry on items strewn across multiple bins, feet on bulkhead. Basically, everything that's been discussed on these forums before.

I'm not unaccustomed to having someone's seat in my face but just a tiny bit of courtesy goes a long way to helping everybody have a more pleasant flight in Y.

Booked VA OOL-SYD last month for travel tomorrow and Tuesday. Platinum travelling with 7 year old daughter. Booked via Flybuys and forgot to allocate seats.

Checked booking today and they have us in row 28 for tomorrows flight!!!! Was able to change to row 5.

No seats allocated for Tuesdays return. I guess Virgin would have waited until flight transferred to airport control. Row 10 best I can do.

And to rub salt into wound using complimentary upgrades from Choice fare promotion ended 31/03/24.

You did help those shoes find their way under your seat and on their way to an adventure. ;)
Check out of accomodation, drop key in key box, pull door shut, head to bus stop, realise still have one more night to stay. :( 🤬

After waiting 2 hours in nearby cafe with luggage, key back in hand.
Admit, it is funny. :)

Some people are simply stupid.

These trolleys need a coin. Small Coles trolleys on left, the big Coles trolleys in middle and fruit market trolleys on right.

Note if both Coles lanes contain small trolleys there's no way for someone with a big trolley to get their coin back as the big trolley does not fit behind the small trolley.

3 people added their small trolleys behind the big trolley in middle lane. I had to move the small trolleys with coin one by one to get my coin from big trolley.

WCMO is rude patrons at my local cade, who occupy a table for 40 mins after they finished their 2 coffees (no food) while heaps of people waiting for a table.

Its fine to linger when its not busy, but not during the lunch rush. especially on a nice sunny day where you can chit chat at the park down the road, and free up a table.

WCMO more is cafe staff too gutless to go over clear the table, ask if they want anything else to get them moving on. It is in their interest because all the groups waiting were 3-4 people all ordering food not just coffee = more profitable.

This has happened a few time lately, always 20 something's oblivious to everyone else around them.

Ditto
Buying one coffee for a day of free internet and pecking away at the laptop as if you are the incarnation of Ernest Hermingway

Agree that's plain rude. We experienced similar on a cruise in the buffet where tables were scarce because they'd closed off half the area. It was dinner time. And there were multiple tables of people playing board games. No food at the table. Crew refused to do anything about it so we walked into the closed off area and sat down there. That seemed to fix it to our benefit.

I've not been a fan of Qantas recently but I'm not sure VA have a better handle on things.

- OOL-SYD delayed 30m
- OOL-SYD cancelled
- OOL-SYD new flight on time until boarding is to start

Apparently boarding started on time. Head to gate to see boarding had not started. No announcement then 5m later notice wheelchair passenger disembarking previous flight.

Then more waiting then 2 elderly passengers boarding followed by wheelchair passenger. Then called up priority line and we are waiting outside to board aircraft. Boarding appears to be complete about time to take off and we are still waiting for paperwork.

Then see an unaccompanied minor board but is still at galley where staff are having a lengthy conversation and finally boarded and we ready to take off but that took forever.

Finally took off 1 hour after scheduled departure. Announcements/updates very poor.

Still not as bad as a OOL-MEL flight with engineering issues finally cancelled. Some passengers accommodated on remaining 8 flights but apparently all flights full so they organised 2 buses to head to BNE at 1:30pm for flights to MEL that afternoon. That would have been very stressful and tiring.

I LOVE extremely crunchy bacon. I was at a country cafe in NSW a couple of years ago and ordered a bacon and egg sandwich, asked for the bacon to be very well done...they refused, said they were too busy 😅 It was so ridiculous to me that it didn't even CMO, the resulting sandwich just reminded me that, yep, i don't like bacon unless it's crunchy.
