What cheeses me off

Did you get them for free then?
There was absolutely no question of getting anything for free. She did give me a bunch of those plastic things they are giving out for free and which I have no use for.

Woolies. Discount prices marked on shelves. Did a big shop today. Did self serve checkout. Of course the first discount price I scanned came in at the original price. Asked the attendant to check. He asked 'what do you want me to do". Sigh. How about making sure I'm not overcharged. I'd bought several of the items as they were heavily (60%j dis counted and we use them all the time. Cat food. Came back amd said yes and changed the price to correct one. A few more items then another discount one. Of course, wrong price again. He attempted To change the price by logging in and the system froze. I'd already scanned three bags of goods. He said, you will have to start again. I asked for more help and he called over the manager who said I was the second person where discounts hadn't scanned. She took all my bags and we went through another checkout. I'd packed my stuff in separate bags as they were for two different places. Ok. Repack again. Eventually Store manager came over and said 'yeah, we were told of the issue this morning. The discount prices aren't showing on scanned but when you come to pay the discount shows.' yeah. Right. in total 10 items scanned incorrectly.

Coles, Woolworths and Aldi have all signed up to the Scanning Code of Practice. This is a policy that means when an item scans at a higher price than the advertised standard shelf price, or if on sale, the yellow ticketed "sale" price, you get the item for free!

I won't go into detail of the ins and outs, but please see this link to Coles website where they discuss this in detail:

I thought there was something in place but wasn't sure today. And I've also read that the seller simply states that they can remove the product from Sale or something.

Startrack driver scared off by three witches hats outside residence put there by our builders. We unable to overcome the obsticles and reported delivery unavailable because of no access to property. Sigh...
What cheeses me off is builders who think they have a right to reserve a space with a few witches hats.

Not at all. In our street the local school fills the street by 7;30 am so nowhere for builders to park or deliver building materials.

This often happens to me at woolies for some types of discount, and yes the discount does show when you go to pay. It is really annoying.

but I’m cheesed off that in 2023 it takes the consumer to initiate such actions whilst these utility companies are reporting record profits. I’d hate to think how many less informed customers simply pay and trust it’s correct.

AGL, Origin and Energy Australia - the big three - have recently announced losses of A$1 billion or more. I don't know why you believe they're hugely profitable.

I can't believe they aren't given the pathetic solar rebate they give when solar systems pump out four times usage. Maybe a NZ - Ansett scenario happening here.
