What cheeses me off

WCMO? getting old! fell over in Luang Prabang, tripped over a gutter in the dark, sore! Again went over today, tripped on a stair, dropped my ipad which slid across the floor then fell about 4 metres. No obvious damage, no cracked screen. Again, very lucky.
I look at all these young people doing what I was doing 40 to 50 years ago........ maybe just a tad jealous........
more beer is required................. :)

That was the store manager.

Went to different Coles to do shopping and bought another 5 Mastercards on my Flybuys account using 28 Degrees. This time 4 were successful and 1 failed to load.

Spoke to store manager who said Coles management have advised do not refund any gift card purchase.

- Need to call the number on the back, quote the 6 Mastercards that failed to load and they will send refund to store and I then need to head back that store to get the refund
- If the 2 x 10,000 bonus points do load to each Flybuys account I'd then need to contact Flybuys and they'll credit the points

This is really disappointing. That's the first time I've had failures and to have that many is weird. Why do Coles take payment if they fail to load?
Chargeback with bank? Goods not delivered

WCMO is when you book a place for brunch... and then they get there and tell you they don't do it anymore. Conveniently though, you can get a lot of the same items on their lunch food menu at 30-40% more for the same item!

Shame, as the place looked really interesting especially with its kick cough sound system.
WCMO agree and part 2…..
Cant they afford the ink for the pound/dollar symbols.. I hate when restaurants do this

Pay in pesos

WCMO for the first time in 20+yrs ANZ has cheesed me off.

The good part their “falcon”’detected a fraudulent transaction from UBER in Vancouver when I haven't been there for 6 mths and texted me in the middle of the night that they had cancelled the card. I checked my account and saw there were three transactions all the same day and time from UBER for three different amounts and rang them. The immediately acknowledged they also should be refunded.

The bad part is I checked my Visa account 24 hrs later and indeed the two extra transactions had just disappeared altogether but not the first one 🤔. So I rang them again and was told that it takes 4-6wks to resolve a disputed charge and I need to wait. Huh? Whatever. So 4 weeks later after getting my statement the charge is still there and I ring again. “I can see there is a disputed charge with investigations and I can’t help you, you have to wait”.

So two more calls over 2 more weeks and I finally refuse to hang up and be transferred to someone in investigations. They tell me the case is closed as I have been refunded the two tx I reported. But what about the first tx? Oh we don't have a report for that one? Huh, you reported it to me and cancelled the card? Would like like me to put a report in for you?

Finally after >2mths and second statement the charge has been credited but not reversed.

Just damn crazy 😡

WCMO but also gave me a good laugh.

I'm in a particular group that must meet even though I'm hated by most of them because we've forced them to meet. It's a legal requirement which it has taken them 11 years to take note of. There is a youngish couple who seem quite on ball and nice and the rest of us in our older years. I only joined this group last Thursday because things must change. It's our Management Committee and MrP and I and one other have caused a ruckus about poor, and we consider, deceptive management.

One of the group is clearly pedantic. When it suits. His name is spelt in an unusual manner, Brenden not Brendan. The younger couple has taken the initiative to set up a zoom meeting. Excellent. Progress. The woman's name is Emily. She spelt Brendens name as Brendan. (My iPad keeps auto correcting to Brendan 😂).

Today BrendEn has sent Emily and cc'd us all in, "my name is spelt BrendEn not Brendan". Except, he's called Emily, Emma. 😂. Nothing like being a pedantic idiot. Can't wait to see her reply but she is far more polite.

Special, moi? 🤣
If I was pedantic about my spelling I'd never get through life.

Agree. But it doesn't matter how simple your name is, people always add an e on mine on the short version or the americanised version on the real name or an S on the surname.

If I knew the younger woman better I'd email that to her.

The name Siobhan. It's a tricky one. Best left alone. Sister in Law worked in Emergency and met all kinds of people. She asked one mother her child s name. See oh Bahn was how she said it. SIL asked her to spell that. Siobhan was the spelling. SIL may or may not have said - the correct pronounciation.

Mrs FB says that's absolutely wrong. You essentially say it "Shiv-on".

I knew of a couple who pronounced their daughter's name as Ee von ey. It was spelled Yvonne.

Yes. I know. That’s my point. 😁. Elder son had an Irish flat mate in Sydney who was named - Siobhan.

SIL corrected her saying it this correct way (Irish) but mum said no. Wrong. 😂

Best one I’ve heard was a story that - frighteningly - originated in Australia...

The girl’s name was spelt C-V-I-I-I-L-Y-N. Any guesses?

(Love to hear everyone’s ideas, but if you give up or want to confirm your suspicions, the name was pronounced…
