My ex-barber used to continue talking mindlessly , and expect a response, even when he had seen me take my hearing aids out.

After I sit in the chair and agree on the cut. I shut my eyes and make it obvious I am tuning out and pretend to be snoozing. That usually works to shut them up.

I'm normally a fan of Amazon's "Subscribe & Save" deals, but I was admittedly cheesed off to note that I purchased one of my household staples at a good price via S&S last night, only for Amazon to drop the price on the same product today.

Still, I guess it's only fair for Amazon to get one back on me now and again given the number of times I've taken advantage of the lower S&S prices on the same items via the cancel and resubscribe option over the years.
