What cheeses me off

Nope that is why they make multi-focals (3 prescriptions in 1 pair of glasses) or why you have different pairs for different purposes.

A magnifying glass is after all just another lense; albeit far less practical as it ties up the use of one of your hands.

And of course if you are getting surgery on any cataracts they can also replace your lenses, but you still may need glasses for smaller fonts especially if the new lenses you chose was for distance or mid range as the artificial ones aren't as flexible as natural ones.

No such thing as legal size font, companies are permitted to use size 2 font on packaging, is it annoying sure, but if you need a magnifying glass to read it you need reading glasses.
Even with my reading glasses on, one huge bugbear is trying to decipher the 'use by' date on stuff.

I think all companies should put their phone menu on their website. Currently ringing the RAA and honestly it would be quicker to drive into the city and talk to them.

There is a spiel at the beginning then there are 6 options of course my option was 6 and then there are 6 more options - you guessed it - number 6 again.

Then you get a minute or two of advertising spiel and then you get a lovely Asian man who keep telling you that they will sort your problem and how happy they are to help you blah blah. These people are lovely but honestly I don't want to be told they are going to be nice and help me - just ask what I want and fix it.

I told him what I wanted - ok I have to validate you. Puts me on hold for 5 minutes comes back and says I have an agent - what was it you wanted again.

On hold again. 20 minutes and counting but it does give me time to write a complaint.

Why do I do this.

I've arranged a small private shore excursion in Hiroshima to visit Miyajiyama Island and a tour of Peace Park with a local guide. Using high speed ferries etc etc. I posted on FB to get four other people to join to offset costs. Fine. A couple from the UK and a couple from the US. Great. The American couple is totally chilled out the detail and extra transport costs due to high speed ferry. We need to get to the Island early in order to visit when it's quiet. The UK couple? Two emails, saying why are there extra costs they should have been included etc. She already had the info with costs outlined. So I have asked the guide to explain the extra costs. She has done that but offered a cheaper option but means we will miss other things. That's a no from me, high speed it is. We are talking about £20! and emailed that back to UK person and said she could cancel. No don't cancel she said. Thought we were passed that. Now, tonight, another email asking again, what it is we are paying for? 🤦‍♀️.

So help me if I get another email asking the same I'll refund her the money and tell her to b***er off.

The ship excursion is full and to get someone to drive costs $1000 usd. I told her that was the driver transport costs outlined but she doesn't seem to understand that few people do tours in busses. They have to take a ferry to get to Islands 🤷‍♀️

Why does my new neighbour keep parking on our lawn when their driveway is empty? I've got a lovely strip of dead grass now 😕
Is that the council verge though? If so there's not much you can do but if it's yours then you have every right to make a fuss.

We have tended our council verge very carefully. It goes around about a 200 angle as it's on a round corner. Every night, without fail, a neighbour brings her dog to pee and carp on it as ts the only well tended lawn within her dogs walking distance. She does pick it up but dogs pee leaves yellow dead patches.

I did suggest that to @TomVexille last night 😂
We both went and walked right up around it last night and it was moved shortly after. I assume being a Tesla they got an alert 😂
Then have a lot of fun with that or tell them there's been suspicious activity in your area and put in IN THEiR DRIVEWAY.

It is the nature strip, but we paid good money for the grass, and its illegal in our council to park on it (even on your own). I don't care if they park in front of our house, I just don't want them on the grass as it risks damaging the services underneath (and has already killed the grass and compressed the soil). I'm going to rope it off today and hopefully the lawn will recover.

Yes. Good point about the illegal parking on the kerb. I'd put up a sign stating 'lawn under repair' and make it look like council got involved. 😂We have spent a lot of money - on water - to keep ours green and also some grass plug ins. Then there's the time spent.

People are just lazy and really don't give a toss about anyone but themselves.

I headed out to rope it off, only to find they have snuck back while I was getting organised 🤦‍♀️

Following my cough about Sydney toll roads and being charged a video matching fee, I finally spoke to someone at the RTA that seems to know what they are doing, unlike last time.
He explained that as it is a very old unit, it is quite possible the battery is on the way out.
I can return it and get a new one, if the old one proves to be faulty, them the video matching fee will be refunded.
Now I just have to go interstate and return it and hope there isn't a gazillion people waiting..............

Yes, in Victoria it is a state law but delegated to councils to enforce it. We live in Kingston and the Council chooses not to enforce generally (they will if the parking is in a dangerous position such as on/near a corner). Frankston City Council choose to enforce the regulation.
