That is absolutely disgusting and I would have made a formal complaint - smokers/vapers sharing their fumes in inappropriate places are simply the most inconsiderate people alive.

At least you can block out some coughs media with noise cancelling headphone, but you cant choose not to breathe.

TBH I didn’t even notice the vaping! It was my seat mate that noticed.

It wasn’t one of those huge cloud devices. Pretty discrete and no smell. Plus the generous seat pitch and string AC meant it was contained.

Cigarette smoking would have been completely different.

I suspect any formal complaints wouldn’t have gone down well. It’s a region where no one cares much about anything

Interesting, I wasn't aware of this.

Scouting around on the internet (always dangerous I know) seems from reports mainly applies for travel less than 72hrs away, will squeeze you on a flight if sold out, if you lucky might get a 10% discount but not always.

Is there something I should know? The flight isn't until next Wednesday (outside 72hr window) and already booked non refundable cheapest fare available.

Seems only Qantas do it and for domestic only. VA and JQ allow for rebooking existing fares and may waive fees in such cases.

I guess if you have already booked then it is moot.

Ok, there are no stupid questions right? But sometimes there are.

On FB there is a page dedicated to the specific date of our next Cruise in Japan. The embarkation date is part of the Title of the page. It's not rocket science. You have to answer that question before being allowed to join as it's a private group.

People are posting various options for Private tours in Japan, I've done that and had our group completed and paid for within 24 hours. Excellent.

So another group was trying to get the same tour happening as ship excursions are all booked up. One person said yes, we will take two places, and that was fine but another couple therefore missed out. Settled right? Nope. The person who booked two places then asked 'what date it this?' 25 April. "Oh. I am not on this cruise date but the next one" . But by then the people who had originally wanted to be included had found another group, meaning that the tour booking was still not confirmed.

When others asked 'why did you join this FB group when you aren't on this one'. 'Oh, I just wanted to get some information'. At which point she got removed.

So I want to change return dates on an F booking with SQ.

Too much for me to attempt on SQ website, 3 flts, 2 ppl.

First I first check the T&Cs : no change fees, but fare adjustment possible, then I look up seat avail and flt options for return, so that I know what to ask for and save the nice man some time checking seat avails.

Best option I can see on our dates, London back to Hobart, is thru Melb rather than current via Syd booking, and with a change of aircraft so would be a downgrade in J from Sin. No biggie, that shud mean a fare adjustment in our favour.

Ask for this option when I get thru to SQ and after some faffing around he advises that would be an additional $13 Thousand Dollars.

Too shocked to ask if thats for both of us, or per-person, but its apparently due to proposed changed routeing, despite Mel being an hour closer to Sin and with cheaper flts to Hobart.

Eventually we settle on a revised return itin that includes an 18h layover in Sin at no charge. Ah well, a day poolside somewhere then dinner in TPR, and a chance to bend some SQ ear about this ridiculous calculation..

Downgrading an award from F to J does not neccessarily mean a refund of points. I had this happen SIN-FRA in F. Plane change to A350. They would not give us F awards on different days when there were actually advantage awards available so when I asked for the points to be refunded they said there is no refund. So took my bat and ball home and cancelled the award. bought paid Emirates J instead.
