Have you not changed your driver licence and electoral address? There can be fines if you don’t change your licence address after an extended period.

I live in NSW and commute to work in QLD.

Hopefully no one ever questions me but to be honest I had no idea and nor did I ever care enough to find out and still don't care.

Daughter is in Grade 3. When she finishes Grade 6 we'll be back in Sydney

I need 8 nights in Pattaya October 2025. I've booked 5 nights in Maytara hotel for $260 and looking at another 3 nights possibly in Travellers Rest hotel and it's $125 with Agoda.

Have a $50 Qantas Hotel voucher with minimum spend of $150.

Maytara is $360 ($100 more than Agoda and I can still get that rate now). (Almost all OTAs have this $46-$52/night)

Travellers Rest Hotel is $156.

I'm missing 2 more $50 Qantas hotel vouchers that I need to chase up but what's the point if I can't save any money on existing bookings. Sheer greed.

I think all rapists are not guilty unless there is video proof they committed rape.

Why would want me on a jury? You do realise that most people have made their mind up on most topics without listening a shred of evidence?

No I don't actually believe that, but there's more to it.

If you believe every woman that alleges rape there'll be many men that will be innocent and wrongly prosecuted. I understand the reasoning behind it but that doesn't make it right nor does it make me feel better.

I was trying to completely ignore your comment on rape so I didn't quote it nor comment on that part of your post.

The person before the court is innocent until the Jury or Judge decides otherwise based on the evidence presented. It is up to the prosecution to prove their case rather than the offender prove their innocence.

There is no case to judge anyone. You judge the evidence. Thats all. What the alleged offender and victim do, or don't do, or look or behave before the court is irrelevant. You do not judge them.

And then they give a formal decision (or say they can't reach a decision) which then informs the judge. So they are 'active' in the process and strongly influence the outcome and not just passive, listening and concluding for themselves.

Of course they are the judge, in Jury trials - they decide the verdict based on the evidence and the Judicial Judge cannot overturn their findings. And in non jury trials, evaluating the evidence is by the Judge.

But once delivered it can't be changed unless a new trial occurs through appeal. . Yes Judge can have closing comments but they are by no means binding.
