What cheeses me off

WCMO - is software entities, particularly Microsoft, pushing their latest AI offerings down my throat, usually at an additional cost. I'm old-fashioned I know, but I do prefer to write my own correspondence, edit my own photos and do my own research without the need to use AI. I do agree that the summary Google offers on search is often useful as long as they give me their sources and do not rely on sponsored content. But having AI embedded into all my Windows and Microsoft Apps is just so annoying. By all means include them but give me the option to turn them off - and don't charge me more for not using them. .

They might improve productivity but probably just breeds laziness, loss of an inquisitive nature and infects all our correspondence with US spelling.

I guess someone will tell me to go back to a slide rule, a calculator, a dictionary and the Encyclopedia Britannica!! At least I would know how to used them.

WCMO today is Suzukis. I am having a run of things coming in 3s.
First driving from the PO to Kmart. Come to a T intersection. One lane to turn right and one lane to turn left. Sitting right in the middle of both lanes is a Suzuki Swift.
Second was driving out of the car park from K mart when a Suzuki Jimny in a car spot to my right didn't even look and came straight out. Fortunately my 6th sense was in action so was able to stop before being T boned.
Third was another Suzuki Swift. I was turning right from the car park Into Bulcock street Caloundra with a green arrow showing. A fellow driving down Bulcock street on my right came straight through the red light. this time it was a quick acceleration that saved me.

Of course 2 were definitely tourists as they had Victorian plates. The first car I suspect may have been a rental with a tourist not knowing which way to go.

Call back to a few months ago, but for whoever it cheeses off, I removed my tow ball a week ago. Just never occurred to me to bother removing it, but it’s a simple fix and maybe someone will be less cheesed off in life!

Last week it was Hyundai i30s @drron. Should we take a sweep for next week? 🤣

They were harder to find at the rental companies, everything’s turning Chinese, when I got the Suzi I had to sing this song ;)

I thought DRRON might have been the biker who had some choice words to a car that almost took him out as it left GYG on bullcock this arvo, the fact he went from 0 to 500kmh on the green light was not a consideration!

Caloundra is always fun during the holidays, local council often covers up the parking meters in case the tourists get offended.

WCMO: hotel rooms that only have one red wine and one white wine glass (but 2ea of everything else).

Makes for “interesting” conversations when pouring BYO….

You'd be super peeved then in many places, because they only supply one size of wine glass (2 of them, to be sure, but a single size, usually not big enough for red and rather wide for a white).

Two the same size is better than 2x totally different size. After the first bottle, trying to estimate becomes a challenge! 😂

Funnily, the restaurant we were just at in MEL also provided different sized glasses. FFS….

And before people get CO with absence of Champagne flutes. In France, sparkling wine is served in a wine glass. Flutes are a non French thing.
I’ve never had a bubbles, let alone Kir Royale in France in anything other than a flute. But certainly never seen a so called Marie Antoinette bubbles glass in France. They should be banned.

Do you mean a coupe?

A bit of quick scattered research finds that the flute dominates as the serving glass for bubbles (perhaps somewhat coming ahead of the tulip glass), even in France (be this for real or perception). However, I did find a couple of sources that contended that it is overall better to serve Champagne in a white wine glass, or one where the opening is only slightly narrower (cf. the quite narrow opening of a flute).

In short, the flute glass, apart from elegance, is supposed to show off the bubbles of the Champagne, but it apparently promotes the acidity of the Champagne more. Serving in a white wine glass apparently improves the taste.

If you have Microsoft 265 subscription you can purchase without the AI component (was the 'classic') - information on AFF about how to do it but can't remember which thread it was in. Lots of us changed plans so as to not pay the additional amount.
