What did you buy for your trip (that you should be currently on, should be packing for) thats now sitting in the corner or cupboard unused and sad? Bag, clothing, camera or Bellroy?

Mine was new luggage. Ive tried them all, hard case, soft case, split bag, 4 wheel, 2 wheel, cargo and duffle and this was what I bought for our Africa trip, because I do all the packing and in the end dont worry about breakages, just want everything including the kitchen sink my husband demands packed.

And now its sitting in the corner, staring at me, with its shiny new black platinum tag and TSA lock, wondering when it can be out there, with a J SQ tag and living its best life... in Africa.

So what was your purchase?

Well, I bought noise cancelling headphones (didn't have any before) on day 2 of working from home and sharing the study with my spouse. We both talk loudly on phone calls it seems. :P

In preparation for two weeks in Scotland’s north (I would have been due back on Monday), I bought a beautiful pair of sheepskin lined leather boots and various merino tops for layering. The boots are still in the cupboard, but with the weather in Melbourne over the last fortnight the tops are getting used...

I got the zip on my suitcase repaired.

Bought summer clothes, swimwear and a floatation ring for the Miss that will be too small by the Aussie summer.

I bought myself some cute shorts for the trip which I was looking forward to wearing now that I've got rid of the baby weight. They won't be wasted but it's a long time till summer.

Luckily we hadn’t a lot in the pipeline when the ban hit so I haven’t bought anything special to sit unloved and unused. We were discussing new luggage but hadn’t bought any.
Apropos of nothing really, but when we were flying to the first lodge in Africa, we saw a couple being made to unpack their shell cases into soft sided bags (provided by the airline).

I still have my fingers crossed that I will be packing them come October

The Moon ??…. not a chance.. dream on…🤩🤩
Sadly I agree. I think that cruiselines will want to avoid UK and US passengers for the moment. Of course that won't fly with those groups by banning them so likely it's off for all.

I hadnt bought much, just some summer clothes that were first going to Bali in what seems a lifetime ago, in late March. So I unpacked them on the spot and refreshed my summer clothing as it was still warm.

I left my dilapidated ski goggles behind in Austria in January. They'd served me well for several seasons, but were finally falling apart. Bought a pair of new retro ski goggles straight after the trip to be used for the next adventure.

Before the 'rona I managed to snag FF seats for the whole family SYD - NRT - HEL for a bucket list ski trip to Lapland in December 2020. At this stage the trip is looking very unlikely to go ahead, but I have not yet cancelled the award seats, so who knows...

This was the plan:
