What did you buy that's not living its best life right now?

I got a couple of new Plane Tags and they are sitting on my bags ready to go... (747 Skin and Titan II Rocket).

$450 worth of vaccinations to go to Turkey. (Hepatitus and Typhoid).

25000 topup QFF points in order to secure our last flight home SIN_SYD - the flight is refundable, the points purchased to secure it are not.
AA miles topup to purchase J flights on HA to HNL. Obviously all the points have been refunded but that's where the $$ are tied up. No guarantee we'll be able to get reward seats when we can finally travel.

Two sleeping bags, some dry soaps, new drink bottles, chamois towels and a new Galaxy S20 Ultra that was going to take the bestest of pictures and has already broken (grrrrrrr), all for our Intrepid tour through SA, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The phone of course is a phone and I'll begrudgingly be getting the camera module glass repaired (the interweb is full of stories of this glass cracking for no reason). The rest will all stay in the cupboard until we're able to rebook and head west. I'm glad I hadn't started with the vaccinations. My partner and our friend had been a bit more proactive in this regard. They'll be current for a while.

A new wheeled backbpack from Aldi. I had no specific travel planned having only been away to Paris and the UK last n October/November for a family history conference. I did have another conference in the US in mind if finances permitted, That was due to be held in Salt Lake City next week, but has now been cancelled and turned into an online conference. I suspect I will not be going anywhere this year which gives me a chance to replenish the travel account. My new backpack does not look like getting used until March 2021 when I am (hopefully) going to a family history conference on the Sunshine Coast. I have booked the accommodation, but not any air fares as yet. Who knows what will happen between now and then. Meanwhile the backpack is sitting here looking at me! I'm storing all my travel related stuff in it at the moment.

I renewed my passport.

Both the person that served me when I submitted the application at the local Australia Post outlet and the Australia Post person that delivered the passport to me a week after the application both said the same thing: "Where do I think I am going with this new passport?"

Perhaps take it with you for the business premises that want's to make sure you are not from overseas before letting you in ;)

Well, I bought noise cancelling headphones (didn't have any before) on day 2 of working from home and sharing the study with my spouse. We both talk loudly on phone calls it seems. :p
Yes what I purchased for our next lot of flights - they arrived the other day - now have to find ways to use them.

I Like your thread !!

Also, like the look of your soft bag.
What is it and where did you buy it?

I’m just dreaming of my holiday.... was to leave for a Europe, in 2 weeks. Highlight was going to be a 7 day Croatian cruise. Been looking forward to that for years. Sadly, will now be a few more....
REI in the US, I used a USA PO Box promo to get cheaper delivery, still exxy but its done now. Kathmandu has a similar but it doesnt have a extendable handle, Wheeled Duffels | REI Co-op

I bought a new all singing-all dancing super zoom lens. "Oh this'll be great for travel" pffft. 🤦‍♀️

We where going camping before Easter, once we can travel a little can't wait to go, even if it will be cold.

I am still trying trying to sort out annual insurance because I got it 5 days before they stopped selling them and now can't use.

Anyone who has bought travel insurance from an insurer who operates in Australia has the right to cancel the policy and get a pro rata premium refund for however much time is left on the policy. But anyone who has future bookings might not want to do that because it would leave them uninsured for those bookings.

PS there is never a good reason not to read and understand your own travel insurance policy, and there is never a good reason to rely on random internet advice as a substitute for reading and understanding your own policy.

Its not far from the VIC or SA bank of the Murray to the NSW bank. Even I could paddle that far. ;)
However, it is probably a good 250 km from the garage to the either the NSW or Vic bank of the Murray.*

* Assuming Buzzard is in Adelaide like 97% of the SA population.

Ok technically speaking I didn’t buy this. “Gift” Carry on Suitcase from BMW.
It arrived completely unannounced at my house via FedEx on Friday 20th March. Same date as the Australian Borders were closed, same date as I should have been on QF11 to JFK.
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, I think at the time I did the latter.
It has sat in a far forgotten corner of my garage ever since.
Think I’ll stick to my LV 😂
