Lazy government worker here :D

ENurse in an emergency department, and yes... we have seen it all
Makes for interesting discussions over breakfast...

I fight in foreign ****holes.

Awww, come on, Juddles! Don't undersell yourself! You work in fascinating foreign lands, live in some luxury while there and you and your family entertain your AFF friends in the manner to which they have become accustomed when they visit you ;):p.

Inhouse legal advisor for a global consulting group. Mostly negotiate contracts and resolve disputes.
Seems similar to Milboo.

Well, apart from travelling professionally ;):p, I'm retired - sort of. Agricultural/biological research scientist by profession; consultant (that title hides a multitude of sins :p) when it suits me ;).

Work, by definition, is not permitted to interfere with travel .

Most think I work 2 days a week to run up frequent flyer points and miles. I used to be a CPA and chartered secretary but graduated into a wholesaler for the last 37 years. It is much more fun making and selling products than doing accounting.

I'm the CEO of my own Luxury Travel Company and also have a couple of other business interests in Health Solutions and Personal Development.

Very interesting.

Strategy consultant working mostly in public sector. Travel is mainly in the golden triangle.

I am somewhat similar to Bismarck, after 30 years in property management and IT in government I went over to "the dark side" as my former colleagues call it. Now a specialist consultant mainly around IT and organisational/business review for government clients, and down to working just 3 days a week.

I work in the family business.. it can be interesting. Background is in manufacturing (particularly sheetmetal) but nowadays do a wide variety. Spend time in Asia looking after client projects/products etc

I am in goods not services (these days anyway) so thankfully contract work is only a small part of my role. Playing in a M&A deal at the moment which is a challenge but satisfying.

....I hope that some of the QF P1s.... chime in and let us know some of their lines of work....

In the spirit of this great thread I will expand a tad. I have done quite few jobs in the past, ranging from fraud control for the Federal Government, to eking out a living in the mountains of Chile working small gold veins. I currently spend 22 hrs a day in the "countryside" in Colombia, teaching non-mercury techniques and environmental management to alluvial gold miners who are very busy destroying the jungle. The other 2 hrs a day left over I build up until I have enough to travel back to Australia to be with my family. But the true answer to the threads main question is that I am a wannabe writer who is attempting (very successfully) to experience as much about Life as I can for material for future writings.

RE wannabeinvestmentbanker's comment about P1's etc, I am in that group now (at the very lower end) because I work where my family cannot live, so travel is something I cannot avoid (helps I love it too!). It is a huge cost but it is a necessity. (Frequent escape from the jungle keeps me sane - sanity being a relative term?) My involvement in AFF started as I needed to learn every trick in the book to try to minimize the burden of these huge travel costs. I have absolutely no doubt that I am the poorest P1 on the QF books :)
