And I can't sleep when people are hovering above me and bumping into my outstretched legs.

Old post I know, but answer should be still relevant. I have found this to be a problem also - but on a flight to JNB a couple of years ago, the penny dropped ... my dark coloured socks merged into the carpet and people were bumping me all the time. Half way during the flight I put the bright orange QF blanket over my feet and not a problem at all. So now I make sure I have something bright over the feet and not had a problem since.

Now as an aside, on the way back from JNB I was assigned the exit rows near the galley, which was fine (less people hanging around than near the toilets), but I was woken in the middle of the night by FA's congregating around & looking out the windows. I asked them what were they looking at (in the middle of the night somewhere deep over the southern ocean) - and I took a look myself an impressive display of the southern lights (Aurora Australis?). One interruption I was actually thankful for.

Just for reference and to show the variation, here is a KLM MD11 config.
On KLM 10H looks similar to Finnair 21C. There is only a closet in front of you which means you can stretch your legs forever without having someone bumping into them constantly.
