As happens each year I dont always get the family commitments as to holidays and availability to be able to lock away the SQ saver redemptions.
This time of year I have 9 waitlists in the system now for departures 4-8th January waiting for Savers to become available BNE to either SGN, MNL or just to SIN. I already have a J Saver returning from MNL in mid-Jan. None of these 9 waitlists affects availability of existing seats, they just put me in the queue if something becomes available. If they become available, I have three days to decide before SQ will withdraw any offers.
In previous years it always looks booked and committed into/out of BNE. Then in the 2-3 weeks before Christmas SQ must review the loads and open up some Saver availability.
In keeping with waitlist best practice, I have lots of options, one of which includes staying home and holidaying in Australia if I can't get into Asia for the right number of miles.
So, what is your annual Christmas SQ redemption waitlist wish?
