As happens each year I dont always get the family commitments as to holidays and availability to be able to lock away the SQ saver redemptions.

This time of year I have 9 waitlists in the system now for departures 4-8th January waiting for Savers to become available BNE to either SGN, MNL or just to SIN. I already have a J Saver returning from MNL in mid-Jan. None of these 9 waitlists affects availability of existing seats, they just put me in the queue if something becomes available. If they become available, I have three days to decide before SQ will withdraw any offers.

In previous years it always looks booked and committed into/out of BNE. Then in the 2-3 weeks before Christmas SQ must review the loads and open up some Saver availability.

In keeping with waitlist best practice, I have lots of options, one of which includes staying home and holidaying in Australia if I can't get into Asia for the right number of miles.

So, what is your annual Christmas SQ redemption waitlist wish?

Alby

Thankfully no waitlists required for me this year.

Confirmed J and F IST-MEL for my Christmas pressie. Wasn't easy but managed to secure my perfect route and now I can't wait!

Alby I have not bothered with waitlisting as once I have clicked I just get on with business.
Last night at a staff dinner several wives told me they were quite happy in business class on SQ (rather than First or Suites).
I think they are happy we chased frequent flyer points to make their long haul flights so comfortable.
I feel certain that waitlisting can work but we have definite schedules to meet most times.

I have a confirmed F MEL to LHR on 19 DEC with a 7 hour stop over in SIN. The waitlist is for the earlier flight SIN to LHR which would be nice if it comes to fruition as it is R. If not I will console myself for a few hours by the pool:cool:.
On the return on Jan 7 I have confirmed J and its on SQ321 from LHR which rarely comes up for saver on J or F so nothing waitlisted there.
Plenty of waitlists for my annual boys ski trip in March though

At my end, I have a 2X J saver return BLR from MEL between early Jan -mid Jan and then again 2 J saver confirmed between late Mar - Mid Apr, but also have several waitlists mid Mar and Mid Apr for another J saver fare (we are 3 in the family). All confirmed 2XJ savers in Oct and 3 Waitlists. A total of 11 waitlists in the system. I know I will get chastised for booking one way KL early July (school holidays) on Air Asia premium. Would be a great as this is a red eye flight and I have slept well in this before.

Now I will have to look at the following years flights, but all these confirmations and waitlists mean that my KF balance is a paltry 16,000 something at the moment.

We have a flight SIN-SYD 25th Jan as part of our return from Sri Lanka.

Booked in J and have a waitlist for F

Not very hopeful

Here's hoping that the SQ KF Santa will see this Christmas wishlist thread. Keep an eye for an email under your tree on Christmas morning.

Originally was going to fly SQ SYD - KIX on boxing day, had confirmed J bookings for 3, was trying to get F for two of us. But then was able to get JAL via AA (Syd - NRT) in F for only 60K points each. Still have the waitlist but think I'll cancel now.

Coming back HND - SYD on 11 Jan, have 2 * J and 1 * Y booked. Originally just has a waitlist for the other J seat but Amex have been generous to me this year so now have waitlisted 2 * F as well as incremental cost for F (95K pts vs. 77500) not that great.

Just woken up in Lyon France and have an email from SQ to advise my waitlist Dubai to Brisbane has cleared for 1 January 2016 on SQ 495 and 2 January on SQ 245 for wife and I in J.

Will now have some hard decisions to make! Currently we have Enrich redemptions bookings in J on MH to Sydney which requires us to overnight in Sydney (have paid for a booking at Rydges Airport) with a flight on QANTAS in J to Brisbane on Sunday. Originally MH bookings were to BNE and flight on QANTAS is provided by MH with Rydges booking at my cost (is a non refundable booking).

If I take up the waitlist for the flight to BNE and cancel my MH booking then Enrich points are lost but I do get the fees paid back (less a small fee for cancellation) and out of pocket for the Rydges booking.

Have until 27 December to decide.

With the excitement of Christmas dinner over easy call to make. As Santa gave me the best present with a waitlist booking clearing on Christmas eve had to accept the present!

Have completed the booking including seat selection. 11D and 11F on SQ495 which I am happy with. 15C and 15A on SQ245.
