What side of the plane do you sit on?

I've had a lot of spare time lately, and was doing a little thinking about flying, as you do. And I realised that everytime I fly, I always instinctively select seats (where the opportunity is available), on the left hand side of the plane. I do the same thing when travelling on a coach/bus. The only time I've sat on the right has been when I've had my seat allocated.

What side do you pick, do you have a preference? And does anyone know why? Someone told me it was to do with being a passenger in a car (ie. on the left in Aus)....

I pick left when departing ADL and right when arriving ADL. Maximises the chance to see my house. Otherwise I don't care.

Lean towards ABC side, but often mix it up. Really don't have a particular side that I prefer.

Always plump for ABC but too often get stuck in D. Just feels like ABC should deplane first...

Away from the Sun/Sunrise as much as possible - although that won't take precedence over a bulkhead seat.

e.g. On 388 flights - QF93 I'll take 80A and on QF94 80K, QF10 ex SIN, 80K.

+1.

With midday'ish flights I'll generally sit on the ABC side for some reason, less distance than the other side in terms of deplaning when there's 2 aisles.

Generally I pick the left hand side of the aircraft but I'm not too fussed at the end of the day.

I'm more interested in how close I can get to the front of the aircraft !!!

After being caught out once with a 26B BP on a 767 and being subbed to a 734 so in the back row, I always now select the righthand side just in case..

However on INT flights I'll try and pick whichever seat is in front of the bulkhead.

I tend significantly towards the port side of the ship. Not sure why but I guess it has something to do with reading from left to right so that when the seat diagram comes up, I just pick a seat near where my saccade passes first.

I always chose aisle, prefer D (is that right hand side?) over C. Im right handed and prefer not to have the "active" hand in the aisle and away from trolleys.
Traveling Y I prefer row 4 or 6 behind Business then exit row. In J row 2 because I cant stretch out in bulkhead row 1.

I usually sit on left side, except when coming home(domestic) so I can see my House, otherwise about 95% A or B, when seats are allocated I see I usually am given A. I am lefthanded don't know if this means anything?

I thought I both knew a lot about flying and over analysed my seat selections but it seems I am barely an AM on the Pro/AM tournament.

Hmmm. I started out as a leftie, but swapped over to my right hand early on (on my own, not forced).

I always choose an aisle on international flights, but always a C rather than a D... Maybe I like having my right hand free rather than squished my my neighbour...

Not really important, there is not that much difference between 16AB and 16JK :-)

Left ALWAYS!!

Row 1 ALWAYS!!

Aisle (if 2 seats) ALWAYS!!

For those AFF'ers on my FB..... Look earlier this year when I was flying LHR-MEL and I was given 1K!! (Pics etc!!) I was in the lounge when I checked my BP.... Usually don't ever as I have the same seats every time I fly! After about 30 minutes I was presented with the BP I should have had!!

Always a window seat and I get the maps out and look at which side I think is going to get the better view. (Self-funded leisure flyer :!:)

On one aisle planes it's an aisle seat on the other side to the sunrise or sunset.

On two aisle planes it's as above but also in the middle section.

Always try and snag an A seat especially when I want a sleep as I sleep better on that side. Short flights would rather be up the front rather than in the middle with an A seat.
