What side of the plane do you sit on?

I take the A seat when I can get it. Like Mogul, I sleep better on that side, but I also choose away from the sun. I like to look out the window, but can't tolerate sun glare...it gives me a migraine.

I don't care whether it's port or starboard so long as I take an aisle seat. However on wide body jets, I prefer aisle seat on the right as to me, it seems that the right side moves quicker on disembarkation.

On longer flights understanding where the IFE boxes under seats are located is important - doesn't matter which side of the plane, overidden by aisle preference. If for some reason I couldn't get an aisle seat - and had a window seat on a longer flight, it would definitely be on the left, purely because I sleep on my left side and find it better to rest that against the window than the right side of my body.

I'm right handed therefore, when seated in a 747 F cabin or UD J I like the right hand side.....seems very natural with glass in hand;)

Always aim for left aisle, unless I know it's a sunrise/sunset flight and that would put me on the "bright" side of the aircraft.

Also quite happy to move to right hand side to get exit row/bulkhead/aisle.

On two aisle planes it's an aisle seat on the other side to the sunrise or sunset.

On three aisle planes it's as above but also in the middle section.

ooops  Should be:

On one aisle planes it's an aisle seat on the other side to the sunrise or sunset.

On two aisle planes it's as above but also in the middle section.

On three aisle?? -- Mmm not sure :p

I always aim for an A seat regardless of aircraft, because, as above I can lean to rest on something, leaving the armrest hogger to do what they will. I'll take a K seat for similar reasons but A just seems better.

It can mean leaving the plane a minute or two later but pfft. I'll still be waiting for luggage with the aisle people.

Away from sun except if in QF F 747 cabin, then it is 4K.

UD on QF 747 16K.

Given the choice ABC/Left always for me.

However, saying that. I won't pick left if there is a better (more forward) seat on the right.

Nice to see that I'm not only on the left-side preference (barring more forward seats) :p

I wonder if Americans/Europeans prefer the right.....

Usually either A or an aisle seat on the right hand side when seated (e.g. D) as I'm left handed and prefer to have some freedom of movement, particularly when eating..

It probably says too much about me, but I see 1A as the holy grail. Anything less is disappointing to varying degrees, first by columns and then by rows. On that basis, given the choice, I'm with the majority in this thread in choosing the left side first.

LHS aisle preferred, but forward beats which side of plane, so in Y, 4C preferred, but 4D will trump 5C.

On twin-aisle aircraft usually the LH aisle seat of the middle block, bulkhead or one row back from same, depending.

It's a wonder AFFer flights don't tilt to the left!

Hi, I've been reading forums here for a long time, and this is the first post. I always sit on the left-side.
