What's on your Bucket List?

Jay Cassano, in his article in Fast Company, has an insightful discussion and quotes:

"Our experiences are a bigger part of ourselves than our material goods," says Gilovich. "You can really like your material stuff. You can even think that part of your identity is connected to those things, but nonetheless they remain separate from you. In contrast, your experiences really are part of you. We are the sum total of our experiences."

Flying in a Tiger Moth off a grass strip would be an unforgettable first class experience for me...

More Africa and S America (my two favourite destinations in broad terms) and Madagascar - all locked in for coming up in the next 12-18 months :).

Don't have much of a bucket list but our plans so far for:

2016, Cambodia (hubby's wish list for temples)
2017, Easter Island, hope to scuba dive while we are there.

We're meant to have a new bucket list every year now?

No. These are things that people have been able to start ticking off that list and the year they are doing that. :p

Good to hear and taking underwater photos of the Moai is specifically why we want to dive it, otherwise hubby will wander for days taking topside photos.

The sunken moai is only about a 5-10 minute boat ride from the harbour at Hanga Roa Bay where the dive shops are, so they'll take you out even if the weather's pretty naff. The other dive sites are round the other side of the island, and they rarely go there because it's too windy for their little dive boats. It's a fun morning dive for when you get sick of "not another moai" topside, but that's where I'd leave it :)

Well my bucket is bottomless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So may things to do and places to see, foods to try etc....

But this years 4500km self-drive 4wd trip through Africa is a long lusted for one though, and will be a bigger tick than normal!

The last few years I have also started cycling touring overseas, and so that just re-opens a lot of past destinations to see again in a different way.

When I get more time I also want to undertake some extended yachting holidays. I have this year started my transition to retirement by leaving employment to start my own business which I have now down. Virtually everthing is in the cloud so I can work from anywhere. I will work say 80% this year and next. Then say 50% for several years. All daughters should have finished university by then. Then less or nothing after that.

I have a couple of things on my bucket list.

Try out the A380 Business bar
A flight on a DC3.

Oh hang on I am doing that this weekend.
Almost forgot.
A Fremantle Dockers premiership
