What's Stopping You from Leaving QFF and Are You as Valuable to QF as You Think?

At the moment I have no need or want to leave QF.. that view may change after Aug 24, but as most of my travel is DOM, it may not..

I won't fly VA yet, as simple things like replying to an email seem too hard. Still awaiting a reply back from the rep here after nearly 2 months. At least at QF my emails via the contact page have been answered with a phone call.

I also am not going to start at the bottom of the VA chain, if they want me to fly, status match me and reply to my emails...

I've been looked after by QF very well over the last 2 months, getting me on a flight home after the ash cloud and booking my 8yo daughter separately then linking her to my work booked flight are two examples of how i have been looked after.

Also the Flight attendants have been really good on all my flights lately. No one grumpy or surly or rude. So really i have no need to complain or move.

oh and I got the double SC this year too!

I am moderately valuable to QF I think but would love to be corrected by someone who has a better idea.

I fly about 70 flights a year. 75-80% domestic Y, half those fares are flexi-savers.

Internationally I fly Oneworld products like Circle fares or OW Explorers. Of those flights I avoid QF except for the flight back to Aus if it's an A380. I don't know how the fares are allocated...

If I changed it'd be for AirNZ but I don't feel their RTW product is as good as OW's. Also I'd only consider changing after I burn my points which is at about 600k ish at the moment.

Coming from a position in which I am BNE Perth average 3 times a month my loyalty is held by a lack of a credible alternative (and a good bank of points).

I am persuaded to remain loyal by a reasonable strike rate on op upgrades, especially at busy times.
Very annoyed at being denied ODU's when there is patently seat availability prior to the flight and then the J cabin miraculously fills with staff. Happened last week, did BNE-Perth and then had to return same day, and do it again the next day.
Not happy that the BNE route gets the most tired product when it's the longest trans-continental flight.
Like the regularity of staff on the route. It's nice when you know each other's name without referring to the boarding card or name badge.
