Whats the best thing you got with Velocity points??

Long before the words flyer status or WP, SG ect meant anything to me, I used points to get hubby and I each a pair of Bose - still love them, don't regret them.

Now Im a point hoarder for upgrades and flights. Used them earlier this year for SYD>BRI>LAX>SEA>SF>LAX>SYD, both of us business/first every flight and in August for SYD>DRW>SYD (VA WP comp upgrades).

Ive been threatening a trip to Easter Island in 2017, but it will be the long way there via SQ J (unless I can figure out another way).

Note this thread relates to Velocity points ... FASA's don't cut it.

Although ZASA's may :D

I tell the family a similar thing, that all the time away pays for our family holidays.
BNE-NYC back in April for the 5 of us. And the wife and I are heading to, CVG,YQB & NYC in Feb 2016.

Mine was using the old J 6900 points + copay between Per and the east coast, was a sad day for me when they stopped that :p

My best was when VA were going through some IT issues and I scored 2 x hkt-per-mel J fares for no points and $45...they also earned SCs and allowed me to hit WP...

Wow, congratulations, that is the best story. You must be checking every day since to try to replicate. ;)

F Suites are my best use of VA points, followed closely by 4 x J seats for the family MEL-LHR return next year, also on SQ.

But if I include QFF, then it has to be JFK-LHR return on the Concorde back in 2003 :D

The problem now is the kids expect to fly J everywhere. On our last trip SYD - MEL in July my 11 year old was extremely disappointed that we were not flying J, and was worried we wouldn't be aloud in the lounge as well.

Kids hey !!!!

wouldn't be aloud??

he/she may have been dictating using Siri or the Android equivalent (isn't that how it's done on smartphones these days? Does anyone actually still type using the tiny keyboards?) and couldn't be bothered correcting. We got the jist though didn't we? aloud = allowed..

Anyhow my best redemptions have been First class CDG-AUH then Apartment Class AUH-SYD using AA points (a steal compared to QF), and SG Suites A380 SYD-SIN then first to MAN using Krisflyer points.

Ditto this. 2 x in J SYD-BNEx-HTI-BNEx-SYD for zero points and just taxes and fees. Was a lovely weekend away!

But I suppose it doesn't really fit the thread as I didn't expend any points ;-)
