What's the service on QF trans-tasman in J?

Totally agree, the business saver fare is the only price point for that product that I'm prepared to pay, not a cent more.
Agreed I always use Business saver and First saver/sale fares. Even for the A380 first which is a wonderful product, I would only feel it was value when getting a sale fare or as part of an AONE4. It makes a difference when you pay for it out of your own pocket.......

has anyone notice the recent price increase on J saver (I) ex-AKL?

it's now NZD799 instead of NZD600

Currently on QF131 that was supposed to go MEL->AKL today. Unfortunately the auxiliary APU failed just after take off and we spent a while undertaking circular turns to burn off fuel and then headed to Sydney for a check with the engineers (along with a few more looping turns and despite some highly polite requests no barrel roles).

Currently sitting at the gate whilst the engineers prod the plane and see if it jumps. Will be interesting to see how this goes.

(Also, nil bubbles in J - just sparkling!). Interestingly enough this is my second APU failure today. :/

Chasingdayflight,

Two APU failures... ouch.
Hoping for some nice compensation

And we are in AKL awaiting your plane to get here so it can take us back to SYD... Now scheduled to start boarding at 20:20 with a scheduled arrival time in SYD of 22:45, that will be interesting if we are delayed any further.

*edit*

Flightstats says the flight will only get here at 20:20, time for some more bubbles

The Novotel AKL Airport is nice.

Glad you got back alright Ozmille, albeit somewhat later than intended!

The flight ex MEL (and flow on effects courtesy of Qantas) was extremely sub-par all up. Going to hit up red roo and explain the circumstances to see if anything can be rectified prior to throwing a tantrum.

Hi All, Here's the J menu from QF AKL/BNE last week. 3pm departure.

I had the lamb and it was really good, also a big fan of Kapiti Ice cream, one of NZ's best exports.
(Although the stuff in the QF F lounges is pretty spesh too!) - excuse the blur on the drinks portion, not that it matters as it is not that great.

The NZ based crew were good without being exceptional

Got another flight in a couple of weeks, very early morning out of MEL, not looking forward to it; maybe just enough time for some F lounge eggs Benedict and thats about it.

Unless you got J at a very special price or its part of a neat ASA, to me, its just not worth it.

Thanks for that. Might be able to surprise a friend by asking them which meal they had (and quoting the menu) ...
