What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Your option of bringing back Thai baht back could be the way to go but don't we need to declare to Thai customs if we leave the country with more than 10,000 baht?

Err...yes that's the theory. Luckly I have never been stopped or questioned or searched at Suvanabumbi.

Cheers
B

Let's wait for some economic data due tomorrow morning...retail sales. And, RBA announcement on interest rate in the afternoon. Guessing AUD will trade lower against the greenback.

Hope your luck continues. Thailand is one country I do not want to mess with customs and/or immigration.

My main mission is to be able to return freely anytime I want....

Pfft, I was fined 100 baht for overstaying my visa once (by a couple of hours!). It has never stopped me from getting back into the country!

Ever since this thread started, the $ has been slowly sinking, and I'm a current sufferer.

Can't you guys leave well enough alone? Surely you know that even the simple opening of a discussion will have unfortunate consequences

You can laugh about that one but others who have overstayed their visa by days/weeks are no longer welcome back in LOS.

I don't want a black mark against my name anywhere I travel and abide by their laws most times.

It is interesting, as they stamped my passport with the overstay. My next entry stamp was actually next to that!

The Aussie touched a low of 1.0244 this evening. Currently at 1.0256. Seems more downside to be seen tomorrow ahead of the long weekend.

IMHO. Technically it should get in the parity zone and stall where it goes from there.. who knows. I think back up.

Looks as though it might drop below parity before jumping back up again.
Still have a few Marriott reservations yet to be charged to me card, oh well at least I have some GOLD ETFs as some leverage against the currency drop.

Might be wise to grab some of the physical stuff if you are trying to hedge against fiat currencies. 2013 is shaping up to be a real doozy.

Well the GOLD ETF in Australia is secured against actual physical assets so it's almost as good as the real thing. (Unlike some overseas where they operate more like futures with no physical gold backing)
If AUDUSD reaches parity again it will cost me around $500 extra compared with the 1.07 when I actually booked.

Such is the rollercoaster that is currencies I guess.

I see the AUD heading south, to a low of 1.0169 in the markets this morning.

My prediction is that it will still be worth a 100 cents this time next year !
